I just bought a new camcorder which I will be taking on our trip to WDW. I also bought a couple of Disney CDs with both classical Disney music and the more popular Princess songs, ect. My plan is to assemble a trip video set to music when I return home.

I would appreciate any tips or how tos from all you experienced videographers/editors out there.

Also, if anyone has some videos that they wouldn't mind sharing to generate some ideas on film footage, music and theming that would be GREAT!

Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

I'm a professional videographer and I do a video after every Disney vacation. I set it to music just like you're talking. It's a great way to relive your vacation without watching those old "boring vacation videos".

If your camcorder has a Firewire (IE 1394) port on it and your computer has a Firewire card, you're almost set. You'll need some editing software (lots of options, but I use Adobe Premiere Pro) and a fast computer too. If you don't have Firewire, you'll need a capture card in your computer.

While you're at Disney - just keep your camcorder loaded and ready and film everything - rides, meals, park icons. Pick the best parts when you get home and you'll have a video to watch over and over again.

I actually purchased the combined PhotoShop Elements & Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0. Is that the same software you are referring to?

I haven't yet tried to use it but I did buy the manual. I hope it is not too complicated.

Like you, I think "less is more" with home video. I would like to have the key highlights of the trip set to music -maybe a song or two.

I do have some questions for you on music editing. There are some songs I have which I would like to include just certain parts of them. Is there a way of fading out one song and fading in another that you can use in Adobe Premiere Elements?

Also, if anyone is willing to post any such videos they prepared for ideas/inspiration I would really love to see them!!!:goodvibes

The Elements software are the "lite" versions of the professional programs I have used, but I have heard they are really good (though I've never used them myself). Having not used elements, I can't tell you if you can fade up/down the music.
Also, if you have the music on CD, you may not be able to use it in Premiere without first converting it to a .wav file. There are lots of free programs on the Net which can do this for you, if you don't have that ability. Good luck!
