I always vow to do a trip report but never do so this year I am starting it while I am still at WDW. If you have any questions, just ask.

My boys have really gotten in to golf. One day I was messing around on the computer :surfweb: and found the Golf camp at WDW. The dates were July 13 -17. The twins had their baseball world series but it would end on July 11 with the 12th being a rain makeup day. Perfect timing.

I called to get some info. It is $225 for 5 days, 9:00 to 4:00. They provide lunch, water, powerade and clubs if you need them. Very good deal. They take 32 kids and they already had 27 signed up and this was May. I talked to the boys and in turn they talked to their dad. He gave it a :thumbsup2 so I called the next day and reserved it. My DS15 would have to stay home with dad as he had baseball during that week. Dad didn't mind because........ he doesn't like Disney. I know, I know, but he does have other redeaming qualitys so we keep him around :lmao: Turns out DS15 broke his shoulder the middle of June so no more baseball but also no more hardly anything else so it still worked out they weren't going.

We are DVC members so I called and all that was available was SSR. The boys hadn't stayed there so they were happy. I waitlisted for BWV but it never came thru.

Rental car prices are sky high but I finally got a tolerable price thru Dollar. I made our plane ressies for late Sunday in case they had to play baseball Sunday day. Turns out they didn't but I did enjoy being able to pack and do laundry during the day.

Our plane left DFW 7/12 at 5:10. We arrived at 8:45 PM local time. I sent the boys to get our checked bag while I went to Dollar. The line was looong. No other counter had more than 2 people in it. Obviously Dollar had the best deals! We got our Red Seebring and hit the road. Got to the first toll booth and there were at least 50 cars in front of us :scared1: There was only one toll booth open :confused3

We finally arrived at SSR. I was hoping for the Springs so if the boys wanted to go swimming or go over and get something to eat they could do it easily. The CM said they had checked in over 500 people that day and nothing was available. Drat. She then excused herself (that makes it sound like she pooted! but she just left the counter) and when she came back she had found us a room in the Spings section :worship:

The boys couldn't believe the size of the room. It seemed very small to them. Last year at the BWV we had the biggest studio ever, room 5050, and they are used to OKW which has larger studios also. Oh well. Can't have everything.

I unpacked and they got settled. Light out at 11:30 PM.

Tomorrow Golf Camp for the boys and grocery store for mom

Monday, July 13

I have a wake up call set for 7:30 but wake up at 6:00 listening to Twin 1 sneezing, coughing and barely able to breath. He has allergies and allergy induced asthma. He has only needed his inhaler about twice in his life so of course I didn't have it. It turns out he did not take his allergy medicine the night before. I get him his pill and work on getting him calmed down. Finally, he is back to normal but we are all awake. They are going to be exhausted today. It took the boys a while to go to sleep last night. Earlier in the week they saw something on Youtube with people imitating Christopher Walken and now they keep repeating it. "First you get a free range chicken, I don't care how. Buy it or hunt it down with a knife. The important thing is to respect the animal" I hear it over and over. As much as I am hating hearing it, they are getting pretty good at imitating him. :rotfl:

We get dressed and I take the boys to McDonalds for breakfast. We then drive over to the Pro Shop at Palm and Magnolia Golf Course. We are sento over to meet at Shades of Green. I get them checked in and they are given a goodie bag. It has a Golf bag tag with their name on it. A bag that can hook to their golf bag that has tees in it. A sleeve of 3 balls, a blue cap with Mickey swinging a club and a very nice white polo shirt that has the "D" isignia with the golf tee through it and says Jr Golf under it.

One of the counselors gets the boys a set of clubs each. They are tall enough to use adult clubs but he puts them in a light weight bag since they will be carrying them. They have lockers in the restrooms so if any kids brought anything they can store it there. There is a wide range of kids. Most look to be about 9 or 10. Only a couple look the twins age. There are probably about 5 girls. The counselors talk to us a bit and then they are off with the kids.

I drive to Wal Mart and stock up on drinks, snacks and breakfast foods. After I put it away and get our room better arranged I go to Downtown Disney. Twin 2 texts me and asks what I am doing. Turns out it is raining at the golf course so they are watching a move. The twins are bored stiff. I hope we have not made a mistake coming to this. After 30 minutes or so I text back and tell him I hope it gets better. He says it already has. Thank goodness.

I head back to the room and take a small nap. I have the alarm set but Twin 2 calls and says I can come pick them up. The last hour of camp they kids have the option of swimming at the Poly or golfing and my boys chose to golf. They didn't have much to do that last hour so they wanted to leave.

I picked them up and they were pleased with the first day. In the morning they went over rules, etc. They had lunch which consisted of sandwiches, chips, fruit, dessert. This is what they have every day. During the rainy part they watched Happy Feet. The twins didn't feel like it was raining enought to prevent them from playing so they were not happy. Eventually they took them on a tour of the courses and then it was time to go.

I thought they would be one of a few that were from out of town. The boys thought they would be the worst ones there. They have them divided into groups of 8. In one of their groups there is only one from Florida. And the boys say most of kids are terrible at golf. A couple of kids introduced themselves and then proceeded to say how they hated golf and didn't know why they had to be there:confused3 They did meet one boy from Wisconsin that is 11 and have enjoyed hanging out with him.

After I picked them up we returned to the hotel where they had a snack and rested. We went over to SSR pool and played for a little while but it was very crowded. One guy at the pool was so dumb. He came down the slide with his young son on his back. The boys was about 4 or 5. He proceeded to just sit at the end of the slide instead of getting off. The lifeguard was hollering at him to get off the slide but he wouldn't. Of course, another kid went down the slide not knowing this dumb dad is sitting there and hits right into the boy on the dads back. Of course the boys starts to cry and it takes a while for him to calm him down. All of us moms around the bottom of the slide were just shaking our heads. After a few minutes of fighting the crowd we decided to leave.

We got ready for the evening and drove over to the Boardwalk. We were going to eat at the ESPN club and watch the Homerun Derby. We were here last year for it also and it was very exciting watching Josh Hamilton. We live close to the Ballpark in Arlington where the Rangers and Josh Hamilton play. This year they weren't as excited about the players but they did want to watch it and it is fun to watch it at the ESPN club. After the first batter the boys were just about drained. They had only had about 6 hours sleep and had been out in the heat all day. We hurried home and they continued to watch the Derby, imitate Christopher Walken :lmao: and fall asleep.

I forgot to mention that while shopping I bought a twin size air mattress to put in the room. The boys are almost too big to share the fold out couch in the studio and this way they can sleep much better. I put it between the bed and the couch. It fit perfectly and Twin 2 was very happy to sleep on it.

Tomorrow....they get to swing a club and mom is going to Epcot.

I'm enjoying your trip report. Can't wait to read more!

Thanks for reading. I know trip reports are boring without pictures but honestly I have hardly taken any. I hope tomorrow for the last day at golf camp to get a few.

Tues July 14

We all woke up after a much better nights sleep. This room is so quiet. I have not heard any noises. After cereal in the room I took the boys to camp. They were excited to go today because they would be able to golf today.

After dropping them off I drove to Epcot. I was able to park pretty close and walked to the gate. I entered at 9:10 AM. Better than I had anticipated. I went and got a fastpass to Soarin', return time 10:15, then rode Living with the Land since there was no one there. It was nice have a boat to myself. I talked to a couple of CMs that were working inside the ride as I cruised by.

I was walking out of the building and heard a mom telling her family they didn't need to go inside since there were no rides in there. Huh? Just Soarin. It amazes me how many people come here with no clue as to what they are doing. One thing about going solo I tend to hear things people are saying more than if my kids are with me. I usually get a chuckle from some of the things I hear.

Next I rode The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I think it is a cute ride. I then was able to walk in to Turtle Talk. That show fascinates me. When it was over it was time to ride Soarin. I got in line and they called for a single rider. Sweet. I was able to pass a lot of people. I was sitting down on the ride when the man next to me was trying to do his seatbelt. He had the long end of his and the long end of his wifes and was trying to hook them together. I pointed out to him that he had his wifes and there was a place on his right to hook in the seatbelt. He said thanks and commented that I must have been on the ride before. :confused3 No, I just have used a SEATBELT before :scared1:. I didn't really say it but I sure wanted to. I said yes and that is was a great ride.

When I was done it was close to 11:00 so I headed to Mexico. My main objective today was to see Off Kilter and they were playing at 2:30. So I started in Mexico so I could end in Canada and then leave to pick up the boys. I wandered thru the countries. I absolutely love the Tomb Warriors in China so I went in there and was sitting on a bench just enjoying them. A husband and wife came in with their young child. The dad told mom that these were the originals. :sad2: Mom said she thought they were reproductions and that the originals were much bigger. Eventually dad read the sign that did say they were reproductions and pointed it out his wife. He walked off and she looked at me and said "Like they would leave the originals sitting here with no one watching them." Heh. :rotfl2:

I went to the movie in France and learned it is Bastille Day. Just outside they had a little quiz and if you got the questions right you got a pin. So I did that and got my pin. I also heard some man on his phone telling someone they had only seen 1 person today and he thought her name was Belle and she was in some sort of cartoon. :sad2:

I went over the bridge and saw Mary Poppins. I love Mary Poppins. It was the last movie I saw with my mom before she died when I was 12. I had the record and we would sing to it all the time. I usually cry when I see her but I was trying hard not to. It is amazing, I am 52 and she still has that effect on me. I stopped to watch her and she asked the young lady with her if she could say her magic word. The girl did. Then she asked if she could say it backwards. She could not. Mary Poppins asked if anyone could so I raised my hand. She came over to me and asked me to say it. When I did she was suitably impressed and told me so. I managed not to cry. That is what I was impressed with :)

I saw Off Kilter in Canada. They were wonderful as usual. I had a little bit of time so I thought I would go to Mousegears before I picked up the boys. As I was walking there I realized I hadn't ridden Spaceship Earth. I had just enough time to ride it. Famous last words. The ride stopped right when I was at the moon landing scene. And stayed stopped for 10 minutes. As soon as I was off the ride I raced to the car and got to camp 10 minutes late. I knew I had it timed perfectly.

The boys were hot and tired but had a great day. They practiced putting and chipping and then in the afternoon golfed at Oak Trail. It is the 9 hole walking course here. They close the course to the public when the campers are there. They thought today was much better and can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Apparently there is a show on the Golf Channel titled Big Break. They are filming it right by where camp is. The boys got to watch some of what they were doing. They have seen the show before so they were happy to watch. One of the campers dad is the producer of it so he was telling them all sorts of things about the show. They are filming it on Magnolia so that course is closed all week.

We came back to the room and rested. We decided to go back to the ESPN club as they do a live radio show at 6:00 every day and we missed it yesterday.

We drove over and parked at the Boardwalk and got a seat in the room where the radio show is. The show started soon after. They asked the question "What would you change in sports if you could?" One of my twins was going to say they would change the BCS and have college football go to a playoff but the first person they talked to said it. Twin 1 kept raising his hand and finally the MC said he would be the last question. He came over to the table during a commercial and asked Twin 1 to stand up. When he stood up he was taller than the guy. The cameraman started to laugh and the MC guy kept telling him yea I know, I know. He asked my son what he would change and he told him he would make it that sportswriters don't vote for Hall of Fame members in baseball. The MC got very excited. When they came back from commercial he told his side kick he was going to love what this kid had to say. Well they were both in agreement and went on and on about sportswriters. They said they were the lowest form and that they don't eat a balanced diet. :lmao:

My son got a sportscenter glass for asking a question and once again the guys told him what a good job he did. We were going to watch the All Star game there but decided to go back to the hotel room and watch it there.

The boys got ready for bed and watched the game while I went and did laundry. They tried to stay up for the end but couldn't quite make it. I think they were asleep by 11:00 PM.

Another great day in the World.

Wed July 15

Once again we had a good nights sleep. I am sleeping better and longer than I ever do at home. After breakfast in the room I took the boys to camp.

I came back to the room for a while. I am ashamed to admit it but I watched The Bacherlorette on the computer then headed out to the Outlet Mall. I picked up a couple of things for the kids across the street and for my oldest son. I had lunch at Panera. Close by is Golf Discount. It is a brand new store that is run by a couple of brothers. They have some great deals there. I bought the boys some golf balls. I came back to the Resort and at 2:30 went to the Floral Arranging class they offer here at SSR.

When I arrived Community Hall was full of kids that were finishing up a ceramic project. I wish I had looked at the schedule closer because it looked like fun. As it turned out I was the only one signed up for the Floral class. A CM from the floral dept here at WDW ran it. She gave me some background on her dept and all the different sections. In the past they have done up to 9 weddings in one day.

My project started with a metal chair that had Mickey Ears on it. There was an opening in the seat to set the clay pot in.

She said they were closing these out and only had 4 left. I was very happy to get one. She gave me lots of tips on how to select flowers at the store. We used red roses, white and yellow daisies, white carnations, a blue flower I can't remember the name of and babies breath and 2 different kinds of greenery. The hour passed quickly. When I first signed up I thought the $50 for the class was pretty steep but considering the nice arrangement I got to take and all the info I think it was a pretty good deal.

I left to pick up the boys from camp. They were very excited about today. They had a putting contest and the 4 groups from camp were combined into 2 groups. Each twin ended up winning their group so it was down to the 2 of them for the championship. Twin 1 won but just barely. After lunch they went to golf.

I mentioned yesterday that they were filming Big Break on the Magnolia Course. Turns out today was an off day so they let the campers golf there. This is the first time in a camp they have been allowed to golf anywhere but Oak Trail, the walking course. Very cool. Twin 2 had an eagle on one hole
and was very excited.

We went back to the room and rested for a minute then headed out to dinner. We went to Fudruckers in the Crossroads shopping area. We tried to see the shuttle launch but there were too many clouds.

After dinner we went to DD and the boys went to Disney Quest. While they were there I went to see the Diana exhibit. I enjoyed it but didn't really see anything that really excited me. A couple of neat things were there. Paying for 1 wasn't bad but if I had to pay for more I don't think I would have gone. It took me about an hour to go through it.

I walked to the Marketplace. It looked like it was really going to start pouring. The clouds were very dark. It was sprinkling but never did rain. I was surprised. The boys called and said they were close to leaving. I walked back to DQ and sat in the gift shop waiting for them. It took them a while to come out but I didn't mind. I was in an air conditioned spot, people watching so I was content.

We headed back to the room and got ready for bed. Lights out by 10:30.

This is a fantastic TR!! I am also a mom of baseball playing, golf loving boys, and I've always wondered about the golf camp. Here in NJ, though, the baseball tournaments go until the end of July.... but sometimes it's only on the weekends, so maybe they could do this someday! :goodvibes So glad your boys are enjoying it!! Looking forward to the rest-:thumbsup2

Welcome. I am so happy someone is reading this

Baseball in Texas really goes almost year round. The world series we chose happened to work out with the dates. Originally we were going to go to Tulsa and if we had we would just be finishing up today. We have friends in Tulsa that are in Texas for their world series and it is just starting today. My twins will start fall baseball over Labor day.

They loved camp and would recommend it. But I think you need to decide early. We signed up in May and there were only a few openings left.

Thurs July 16

Today was a slow day. After dropping the boys at camp I returned to the hotel and just hung out for a while in the room. I did laundry and spent some time in the pool.

I picked the boys up from camp. They had another great day. I don't get a whole lot of info out of them. When I ask what they did they usually reply "golfed" :rotfl2: After resting up we decided we wanted seafood for dinner. We couldn't decide where to go but we finally settled on Cape May Buffet. We got an ADR for 7:55 then drove over to see if we could get in early. It takes forever to get an ADR on the phone. They need check in date, check out date, phone number, etc, etc. At one point twin 2 said just give her your SSN and get it over with :rotfl: He wasn't too far off.

When we checked in they told us it was no problem getting in early and were seated by 5:45. One thing about the ADR also, when I called the lady offered me 5:00 pm. It was 4:50 so I said no. Turns out the place doesn't even open until 5:30 :confused3 Oh well.

After we were seated I waited to give our drink order while the boys got some food. The prime rib was good, as was the fruit and salad but the clams had a ton of sand in them and made them inedible. The desserts weren't too bad but overall we were not happy with our decision to eat there. We had breakfast there, once, years ago and were disappointed with the breakfast. Obviously dinner was no better and we will not return.

We ended up just going back to the hotel and getting ready for bed early. I think the boys were out by 9:30. It is very tiring for them being out in the heat all day. It is cooler here than where we live but it is a little more humid.

Oh! I just wanted to say I had to hunt down the Christopher Walken you tube video- I think it's HILARIOUS that your boys are doing him!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

And we start fall ball in Sept- but after that they train in the winter indoors (we don't have Texas weather!:rotfl:). But August seems to be a sacred month...well, except for football starting in the middle of the month!:headache:

Glad you were able to fit it in between tournaments! Thanks for the advice!:goodvibes

I didn't know there is a golf camp in WDW, how cool! I could see my boys wanting to do that someday.

I'm enjoying your report, keep it up!! :thumbsup2

Fri July 17

We wake up sad that today is the last day of camp. The boys have had a great time and the week has flown by.

After I drop them off I decide to drive to Celebration. I have never been there and always wanted to so now seemed the perfect time.

I drivie around just going with the flow looking at all the beautiful houses. I am surprised at all the cars parked on both sides of the road. There must not be much off street parking here. I am also surprised at the condition of the lawns at quite a few places. Some lawns looked scraggly but some looked like they hadn't seen a lawnmower in weeks. I am really surprised they are allowed to let it get that way considering all the rules I've heard they have here.

Next, I decided to go see the Caribbean Resort. I have a good friend that always stays here and it is the one resort I have never seen. I pulled up to the security guard and he says "Welcome to the islands." I loved that for some reason. I explained to him I just wanted to look around and he gets me a map and tells me what not to miss. He was such a nice man.

I really like the looks of this resort. The pool looked like it would be fun and I enjoyed wandering around on Caribbean Cay and seeing all the little hide-away areas. If it wasn't so hot I would have loved to have taken a break on one of the hammocks.

After my tour I decided to go back to the hotel and lounge by the pool. I did a little laundry while I was there. This pool is so crowded.

I went to pick up the boys a little early so I could get some pictures. When I arrived they were in a building getting awards so I went in but it was just ending. I was able to get some pictures of the boys with the counselors so I was happy about that. They had a bunch of competitions today. In the afternoon they golfed. The boys told me they ended up having lots of one on one instruction during the week. Considering the cost of lessons here the value for this camp just gets better and better.

Behind the clubhouse they have a golf cart that has a giant Mickey head on the front. I got the boys to sit in it and take some pictures.

030_30-1.jpg

We then went in the clubhouse to see if it was possible for the boys to play golf tomorrow. None of the courses allow a player to walk and since the boys are 13 they would have to be paired up with another couple that can drive. The people inside assured me this would be no problem. They said it is a public course and whoever they golfed with would have to be okay with it. We set a tee time for 8:12 at Lake Buena Vista golf course.

We drove back to the hotel and the boys rested awhile. We then decided to go to the Golf Outlet store that I discovered earlier. The boys loved it there. They have great deals on clubs, etc. I am glad we were flying home so I had the perfect excuse to tell them no to any new clubs.

We continued on to the outlet mall that is just down the street. We only went in the Nike store and the boys got a couple of new golf shirts.

We then went to DD to eat at Earl of Sandwich. I love this place and it was my first time this visit. It was surprisingly not busy. We enjoyed walking around and listening to the entertainment. We went to Team Mickey and got dad and big brother a couple of gifts.

I forgot to mention last night when we came back to the hotel there wasn't a single parking spot to be found. I ended up parking at the next set of buildings. Tonight when we returned there were at the most 10 cars in the whole lot. I am guessing it is the side effect of the fri/sat point increase. When we got to our room we decided to go to the pool. They were showing Lilo and Stich. On the way to the pool we saw a frog hopping on the sidewalk. All of a sudden a little bug went running by and the frog jumped and grabbed it. It happened so fast and was pretty neat to see. That is when the boys told me on Thurs at camp they saw an alligator. :scared1: One morning on the way to camp Twin 1 spotted a deer in the woods.

Anyway, the movie at the pool was pretty neat. They have a big blow up screen set up. The pool was not busy at all tonight and it made it very enjoyable. We stayed for just a little while so the boys could get to bed early so they would be ready for golf tomorrow.

Oh! I just wanted to say I had to hunt down the Christopher Walken you tube video- I think it's HILARIOUS that your boys are doing him!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thank goodness they slowed down with it as the week went on. It was driving me crazy. :rotfl2:

I'm enjoying your report, keep it up!! :thumbsup2

Bless your heart having 4 boys. I thought I was outnumbered with 3. If your boys enjoy golf you should definitely sign them up for it. I wish I had discovered it before my boys were 13. They really want to go again but they will be to old next year.

Thanks for reading.

Sat July 18

We had to wake up early because the boys talked me into letting them golf. Yesterday everyone assured me there would be no problem with two 13 YOs golfing by themselves. We had a quick breakfast in the room and then drove over to LBV golf course.

We went to the pro shop and I told the CMs that the boys were here to golf. Well, they took one look at them and asked what adult was going with them. I explained I was told there would be no problem and the CMs were acting like they were not going to let them go. They went off to get their supervisor. :confused3 By this time I was near tears, knowing how disappointed the boys would be. A very nice female CM came out and I said I hope there is not going to be a problem. I thought I was talking nicely but Twin 2 said "MOM" in a kindof settle down type voice. She told me no, there was no problem, they would get it figured out and she took them to get their clubs while I paid. We did not have to pay to rent clubs thank goodness, because that would have been an extra $50 each. I am not sure if it is because of their age or what.

I finished paying and went outside to see if they had clubs yet. I saw the nice CM (actually they were all nice but she was extra nice) and asked about the twins. Turns out she had already paired them with a couple that said it would be no problem and they were already at the driving range waiting for their tee time. I had wanted to take a couple of pictures so she let me take a golf cart to the range. I was nervous as I had never driven one before but I managed not to crash. I met the nice couple and took pictures and left.

I didn't do much while they golfed. They called around 1:00 and I went to pick them up. They shot a 95 and a 98. I was very proud of them. They had a great time and really want to come back for a week of golf.

We went to the room so they could change. They were both starving so we went to McDonalds for a quick bite then we were off to Typhoon Lagoon.

We got the closest spot to park. :yay: I told the boys we were late enough that hopefully people would be leaving. We went in and started looking for somewhere to sit when all of a sudden a thunderstorm started up. We could tell it wouldn't last long, in fact it as hardly raining, so we got some chairs and waited it out.

The storm was the best thing to happen to us. The place cleared out. :woohoo: We went on rides without any wait. The boys did Humunga Cowabunga about 10 times in a row. They did the shark tank while I watched. There was a police officer there and I talked to her for a minute. With the trouble they have had lately at TL it was nice to see the police making their presence known.

We stayed until about 7:30. We swung by Quiznos for a quick sandwich then headed home. We got ready for bed. The boys didn't want to settle down but I kept reminding them we were go to DHS tomorrow and I wanted no complaining about getting up. It was one of the only things we were doing for me and I wanted no whining. They assured me they would be fine. Yeah right. Figure the odds.

I figured out posting photos :woohoo: I thought it would be so complicated but it wasn't. I didn't take a lot of pictures but I will have more for my Saturday update.

Hi twinmom, I'm here to catch up! :)

We've taken drives around Celebration several times (while one or more of the kids napped) and we enjoy doing that. We love looking at all the different houses, so pretty. One time we encountered a group of wild turkeys on the side of the road there. I made a turkey sounding noise (lol) and one of them came up to our van, it was funny. That's interesting that some of the yards weren't looking too great though.

"Welcome to the islands." That is nice. :goodvibes

That golf cart is crazy! So cute! You have handsome boys! :)

We LOVE Earl's too...mmmmm

How neat about the frog and the bug. And the gator!! And the deer. You all saw lots of wildlife!

Aww, sorry about the stress that morning the boys went to golf! That's great it all worked out. Good job not crashing the cart. lol

I've heard the waterparks clear out after a storm, I bet it was great for you guys!

Good job on posting pix! I see the ones of your floral arrangement, very pretty. That chair is so cute.

Bless your heart having 4 boys. I thought I was outnumbered with 3. If your boys enjoy golf you should definitely sign them up for it. I wish I had discovered it before my boys were 13. They really want to go again but they will be to old next year.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks, I'll take that blessing. lol Life can be CRAZY with 4 little boys!!

My boys don't golf yet, but they want to and my dh golfs and wants to get them into it. That camp sounds so fun!

Sunday July 19

We left off last night with the boys promising me they would be up and at'em when the alarm went off. Right. They did not want to get up. They fussed and moaned. I reminded them they had golfed for 6 days straight while I had done very little and I had been looking forward to going to DHS the whole week. My speech, mixed in with misty eyes did the trick. We had breakfast in the room and were off.

We got there and it wasn't too busy. We went thru the bag check and got the one security guard that thinks they are actually going to find something. She had everyone taking out almost everything out of their packs. I think this whole bag check is such a waste of time. The gates hadn't opened yet so we got in line. After a few minutes they opened up another turnstile and people lined up there except for the fact that they all lined up on the left side. Does no one else see the green arrow on the right but me? I guess not so we got in that line and were right in front.

They opened the turnstiles and we got to the rope drop right in front.

We walked with the masses to Toy Story Mania and got a fastpass and got in line. We love this ride and had a great time riding it. The boys were still not thrilled being here and just wanted to see American Idol. The first show was at 11:00 so there was still plenty of time. On our way to TOT we stopped at Starring Rolls Bakery for a snack. I got the Butterfinger cupcake but it wasn't that great so I put it in a box and took it with me. We then went to TOT and rode it. I love this ride. When we left we got a fast pass then went to The Great Movie Ride. We had the western side which I hadn't seen in a long time but I could not understand our driver very well. We were in the same row as the driver, maybe that had something to do with it. Too close to the microphone. :confused3

Twin 2 wanted to hurry and use our fastpasses then go to AIE but I knew there was not time and I also knew he just wanted to use them so we could leave sooner;) I am no fool.

We went to American Idol and the boys loved it. I really enjoy it also.

None of us voted for the person who won. Oh well. We left and got to Indiana Jones right when it was starting. We had to sit to the far left but it was okay because we didn't have to wait for the show to start. We saw the boulder roll and then put away. We then waited and waited for the next scene. They finally told us the audio had gone out and they had to cancel the rest of the show. Drat. We left and the boys suggested we catch the noon AIE. This show was great. All three contestants were from Texas. They all did a great job but one lady was sooo good, we all voted for her. Of course she didn't win. I am beginning to think we curse them.

We went to 50's Prime Time to eat. We were seated quickly and we began to look at the menu. Of course two years ago when we ate here they loved it. Now there was nothing they wanted. I couldn't find our waiter so we left. I felt bad but he hadn't even taken our drink orders yet so I guess it wasn't too bad.

When we walked out we saw the lady that sang at the noon show that we voted for. Her town from Texas is very close to ours. So we told her she was robbed. She said it was a great experience and loved every minute of it. I mentioned what town we were from and she said she grew up there. She told me what high school she went to and I told her my older son went to the rival high school. I told her my twins were going into 8th grade and when I told her what school they were going to she told me the boy that was with her was starting 7th grade at the same school. Everyone sing Its A Small World.

We walked towards TOT and ate at a counter service place. It was very good. I know twin 2 got a pulled pork sandwich and said it was very good. I took out the cupcake and it had warmed up and it was to die for. I still have dreams about that cupcake. It is much better room temp than when it was cold.

After lunch we went to ride TOT but twin 2 didn't want to go so he waited for us. We got to the elevator and took our seat. I could tell the lady next to my son was nervous. She kept checking her seatbelt. So I leaned over to my son and said "I hope I don't fly out of my seat like last time." The look on her face was priceless. I told her I was joking. My son couldn't stop laughing. He must have repeated the story 10 times. When we got to the gift shop the boys wanted to buy some trail mix. When I went to the counter to pay everyone is ringing the bells there. I asked the CM if he heard the bells in his sleep. He said what bell with a dazed look on his face :lmao:

We then used our FP to TSM and once again had a great time. But for some reason I thought I was shooting green and my son was shooting yellow. He thought the same thing. Turned out both of us were wrong and by the time we figured it out we both had lousy scores.

We went to the animation place so we could draw a character. I tried all day to get the boys to take a picture with a character but they wouldn't until this....

They were very excited. We went in to draw and we had the guy that lets the audience decide who to draw. It ended up being between Bolt and Eeyore. I so wanted Bolt but the majority voted for Eeyore. I swear the drawing looked like Bullseye. Even the instructors looked like Bullseye. When we left it was time for the parade.

The boys cracked up through the whole thing. They thought the participants were a little over enthusiatic. Their laughter stopped when the CMs tried to get them out there. :scared1: They quickly said no way. :rotfl: It was very funny.

The boys did not want to ride Rockin Roller coaster today so we decided to go back to the room and rest for a little while and come back for the final American Idol show.

After resting up we went back and got into the holding section for the show. I told the boys not to get to close to the doors because then we would end up at the far end. We are standing there and people started getting closer and closer. The guy standing next to me was holding a great big cooler. :confused3 I could not believe it. Then they opened the doors and people just charged the door. It was crazy. I fully understand how people get trampled to death after being in that. A little girl was sortof mixed up with the 3 of us and I was yelling at the boys to protect her so she didn't get stepped on. Her mom finally yelled at her dad to pick her up which he did. It was total madness. There are plenty of seats, people, so settle down.

This final show had 6 participants. Apparently there were 7 but one had to leave. They were all great. The two that we saw earlier did a much better job but the last guy that sang was sooo good. We voted for him and broke our string of voting for losers as he won. It is the guy in the front row with a navy blue shirt and white shorts.

The park was closed when we got out of the show so we walked to the front of the park to our car. It had rained during the show but had stopped. We have had great luck with the rain all week. We decided to go to Quiznos again for a sandwich. Then it was back to the room. We wanted to go see the movie at the pool. They were going to show The Incredibles but it started to rain again so we didn't go. I figured they wouldn't show it anyway.

I packed some because tomorrow is our last day. :sad2: Then it was off to bed.

Monday July 20

I let the boys sleep in since today was our last day and we didn't have anything planned until 10:45. We had ADRs at Whispering Canyon for breakfast. It is a tradition we go to breakfast here on our last day. We go late, eat a big breakfast and then we don't have to eat until much later.

We finished packing and got our things to the car. We drove over to WL and I valet parked. I was going to check our bags in for our flight here after breakfast. We were seated right away and our server was with us immediately. The boys and I recognized him as our server from our last trip. We had a great breakfast of mostly waffles and bacon, with a little bit of eggs thrown in. It was good as usual.

We walked outside to get our car when twin 1 realized he must have left his phone in the room. I didn't remember seeing it but I figured we should go back and look. We drove over to SSR and the boys went up to the room. I was waiting for them when I started hearing a buzzing sound. I figured out it was coming from the center console of the car. Suddenly I remembered where twin 1s phone was. I answered it and told the boys I found the phone

We went over to the airline check in place and I paid for my one bag and got boarding passes. The boys decided they wanted to play mini golf so we went over to Fantasia Golf.

They always play the side that is a lttle harder without the fun things on it. I just kept score. After listening to the two of them argue for 18 holes I was ready to leave. :lmao:

We drove over to Downtown Disney and went to McDonalds to get a drink. Twin 2 had fallen in love with the caramel frappies that they have at the McDonalds in Crossroads. Turns out they don't have them here so I told him on the way to the airport I would get him one. We wandered around and looked in the stores. We went in the Basin store. I have never really spent much time here. We enjoyed smelling everything. I had to laugh at the twins. They would pick something up, smell it, say it smelled good and then catch themselves and say "what am I doing?" and hurry and put it away. It was very funny. We used the sugar scrub on our hands and it was wonderful but I am too cheap to spend the money on it. Now I wish I had.

It was getting close to leaving time so we went and got gas and then drove to Crossroads to get a Frappy. Twin 2 came out of McDonalds very disgusted. They were out and the soda machines weren't working either. Well, I tried. We drove to the airport and returned our rental car. When we got thru security the boys got something to eat on the plane. I was still full from breakfast.

We had a bumpy flight home but arrived 20 minutes early. The flight attendant made me laugh when she told everyone that next time their flight was late to consider them even.

DH and DS15 were outside waiting for us after we got our bags and we were home. We had a great trip. DH wants to take all 3 boys next year just for a golf vacation. We will see if it happens. He is not a big planner or traveler. I hope he does.

Thanks to my 3 followers :dance3: I am glad I wanted to write this for myself so I am not disappointed by my lack of comments. You three made it worth it :thumbsup2

I will leave with one more picture. Only because I think it is cute. We have a mom with her baby ducks living in our yard and they were out enjoying the rain.

Hi,
I just found your trip report today. I think it's great that you and your sons were able to take a trip together. And you even got a little time to yourself. I have 3 kids also and I know that doesn't happen very often. Thank you for taking the time to write out this report and post your pictures. Even when I can't go to Disney, I like to read about other's experiences. :thumbsup2
