WDW fans going to DL in 2005

I am!! I've only been to DL once, right before DCA opened, for one day. So I've been wanting to go back anyway, to see DCA and really get to do everything in DL. Next year I have a big two week trip planned to WDW to not-celebrate a non-birthday. So I thought 2005 would be the earliest I would do it anyway, and then I realized that would be perfect since it will be the 50th anniversary and they'll be reopening Space, and Buzz and ToT will be open. I'm really looking forward to it.

I will be there! I have never been to either DL OR DCA. I'm thrilled to finally be getting to go to Walt's original park. I am actually planning on going during christmas so I can see HMH, SWH, and Space Mountain back up. I can hardly wait but I don't have my dates set yet so no countdown yet :(

Let's hope that they make DL's 50th anniversary very special...I haven't heard any plans that make me feel very excited, yet...at least Space will be back up, though! (And ToT will be open...no official word on Buzz yet, though...)

I'll be there! but unfortunately, there's talk that space mountain won't be open until november of 2005 :(

I'm hoping for a big celebration also, but it's not looking like it so far. Keeping my finger's crossed!

unclescrooge, I'm not close enough. I've only made the drive once, and it's still 9 1/2-10 hours. Not close enough to pop down for a weekend, as much as I'd like to!

dsnylandmom, I'm assuming they will be doing a year long celebration much like the 25th for WDW, the Millenium, and 100 years of Magic. I'm just going to plan my trip for when Space is back up!

I hope I'll be able to make it... I also have a trip to Disneyland Paris lined up for 2006, when I will be in Europe for the World Cup.

Well DH has a free RT ticket on AA so we were planning on going back to San Diego to visit his sister and to Disneyland. I think it may be for the 50th! We were there for the 45th. That was while they were building their Downtown and DCA so we are looking forward to seeing these! I would love to stay at the Grand Californian this time.

I'll be going. I'm more of a DL person anyway :teeth: I love WDW, but the original just calls to me in a way I can't describe...well, I could describe it but it would take too long. We're also planning to go this coming April. Rumor has it there will be a soft opening of ToT in the Spring, so we're hoping to luck into that. We got lucky and they had the soft opening for Pooh last time we were there. I'm thinking that the "year long" anniversary will be like the WDW anniversaries and actually last about 18 months. I've also heard that the 50th won't kick off until April of 2005, so Space will be open for part of it. I got to ride Space the day before they closed it. It was the roughest ride I have ever been on at Disney (I've ridden space previously at both DL and WDW). I felt battered by the time I got off. I don't mind them closing it for a couple of years if it makes it a better ride.

I and my best friend are planning to go, to coincide with her birthday in September!! This will be our first time at DL for the both of us, so we are getting more and more excited!!

I'm going to hop in my car and be there two hours later! Of course I'll be going dozens and dozens of times before that too.

Are any of you Disneyworld fans thinking of going to Disneyland for its 50th anniversary?

And I thought we were the only ones with this thought. We've never been there and I told my wife several years ago that we'd go in 2005. I plan to go in July for the actual birthday. That's also when the NFFC convention is held so we can attend that as well.

We currently live in the UK and plan to relocate back to CA (San Diego) in 2005. DL is my favourite place so we will be there. I can hardly wait.

I've been to DL 3x and we were planning on going this October. But then, I was afraid too much would be down for rehab getting ready for the 50th (mostly Space MT) and we decided to puh it off until the anniversary.

Hopefully, we can fit it in, since 2005 is ou 10 year anniversary and we were planning on doing and extended WDW and Disney cruise. I am sure I can charm hubby!;)

I am hoping to get a trip worked out for Oct. break of 2005 to DL. We have never been and thought this special anniv. would be an awesome time to go!!

Just sprung the idea on my dw. I think we're going in early dec.
By the way, it wasn't too hard to convince her.

Just a warning to all of you planning to go to DL for the 50th. The rumor is that Space Mountain won't be back up until November of 2005. This could change between now and then, but be forewarned!
