I'm pretty new to all this DIS stuff, but was reading some other posters PTRs and it got me super excited for our upcoming trip to Florida! We'll be flying out of Seattle on Wednesday, November 16th (on a redeye...our first...:worried:) and spending 16 days (!!!) in Florida! We scored 7 Day Parkhoppers from ParkSavers for a great deal, plan on getting tickets to MVMCP for December 1st, are spending 2 days at Universal to see Harry Potter, and have a few relax/beach/pool days scattered in between. We fly home on December 3rd. Holy moley!!!

I am a lifelong Disney obsessive in her early 30s who's convinced she's a long lost princess (princess:) and my husband (nearing 40) is a converted Disney freak as well. I've dragged him to Disneyland for the past several years and he now loves going to the park with me! He's especially excited about all the Star Wars stuff lately!

Disneyland August 27-31st 2015 112.JPG Disneyland August 27-31st 2015 045.JPG

He's never been to WDW and it's been many many moons (I was 15-16 last time) since I was there, so we're both super excited to be able to go! My MIL and sFIL live about 10 miles from the park, so we'll be staying with them for most of the trip (we do have two nights at POR for some alone time ) and spending some much needed time together. We haven't had a chance to see them since they moved to Orlando from Seattle about 2 years ago!! My MIL's health is not the best, so any chance we can spend together is great for all of us. We're taking her to MK for one day and Universal for one day. :earsboy:

Here's our tentative itinerary so far. I'm working on my spreadsheets (which includes all my outfits, as I'm planning on DisneyBounding at least part of the time!), but they aren't totally done yet. I think I'd still like to make or two more ADRs (maybe?) and still need to book our MVMCP tickets and our FPs - we're not at the date yet. This may be a lot of random rambling, but I'm thinking it may help me get my head wrapped around our plans! It still doesn't seem real. :)

Day 1 (and 1/2) - Wed, Nov 16 - Thu, Nov 17:
Work most of the day...well, "work" meaning obsess about how I'll be leaving in a few hours! Leave work a little bit early to catch a train and get to the airport by no later than 5 pm - I'm a freak about being to the airport at least 2 hours early!! The flight leaves at 7 pm with an hour layover in Denver. Then we'll hopefully sleep all the way to Orlando and land at around 5 am on the 17th...eek. The whole day will be spent napping by my MIL's pool and catching up. Then maybe a bite to eat somewhere before heading to bed early for our first day in the parks!

Day 2 - Fri, Nov 18:
Park: Hollywood Studios
Park Hours: 9 am - 7 pm (EMH: 7 pm - 9 pm - sidenote: I read somewhere that for evening EMH you can technically stay in the park for these as a non-resort guest, you just can't ride any attractions or anything...is this true? I love just photographing the parks and enjoying the ambiance - especially at night. Thoughts appreciated!)
ADR: Lunch @ Brown Derby - 1:35 pm, no dinner plans - we kind of like to just snack everywhere
FastPass Plan: Toy Story Mania (DH was OBSESSED when we rode this in Disneyland), Star Tours, Tower of Terror (one of our favs!)
Other attraction plans: Rock N Roller Coaster (maybe as Single Rider?), Star Tours (again), anything Star Wars related..., Great Movie Ride, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Fantasmic!, Beauty and the Beast, maybe the Frozen Sing Along?, other shows and rides here and there...it doesn't look like there will be a ton to get done at this park which is why we put it at the start of the trip. Ease ourselves into it. ;) We're hoping the Star Wars fireworks are still happening when we go, but I haven't been able to figure out if they are or not. :confused3

Days 3-4 - Sat, Nov 19 - Sun, Nov 20:
Beach days! I think the plan is to avoid some of the crowds and head to Cocoa Beach with MIL & sFIL as they have access to a condo out there so we can stay the night. Hopefully the weather is decent for being at the beach! Although, being from Seattle, a "beach day" is anything over like 60 degrees. ;)

Days 5-6 - Mon, Nov 21 - Tue, Nov 22:
Universal! Haven't done much planning for this yet, other than we know we want to go see all the Harry Potter stuff. DH also wants to ride some of the more "thrilling" rides here. Any tips or bits of advice are much appreciated! We'll have one day with my MIL and one with just the two of us.

Day 7 - Wed, Nov 23:
Parks: Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom after dinner
Park Hours: AK - 9 am - 6 pm, MK - 9 am - 10 pm (EMH: 10 pm - 12 am - same thoughts as above on Hollywood Studios day...)
ADR: Dinner at Sanaa at 6:45 pm; no lunch plans (grazing)
FastPass Plan: Kilamanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids OR Dinosaur...can't decide
Other attraction plans: Neither of us has been to AK before, so we're just going to try to do as much as we can! I'm excited for dinner at Sanaa and have heard good things about it. After dinner the plan is to head to MK for a few hours. I'm sure at this point in the trip I'll be dying to see the Castle up close and have the more "classic" Disney experience (for us at least...it just feels like Disney when you walk down Main Street!). We're not doing the parks on actual Thanksgiving, so I think we'll be ok staying up super late and sleeping in the next day.

Day 8 - Thu, Nov 24 - Thanksgiving!:
We're having a family day for Thanksgiving. We'll be cooking, eating too much, playing Catchphrase (our favorite game with my in-laws since DH and I first started dating!), and decorating the Christmas tree. I'm excited to spend the holiday with MIL & sFIL. MIL asked what I wanted for Thanksgiving so I said, "Turkey!". Apparently this was very funny, so I asked, "what do you usually do for Thanksgiving now that you're in Florida...gator?" It should be a fun and relaxing day and the DH and sFIL should be able to get in plenty of football.

Day 9 - Fri, Nov 25:
Pool/Chill/Recovery day. I'm guessing that Black Friday is a pretty busy day in the parks, so thought we'd take a rest day and let our stomachs return to their previous sizes. Thinking about maybe visiting an orange grove or something.

Day 10 - Sat, Nov 26:
Park: Epcot
Park Hours: 9 am - 9:30 pm
ADR: Lunch at Restaurant Marrakesh at 1:35 pm, grazing/drinking around the World for dinner
FastPass Plan: Frozen Ever After (if it's possible...) or Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Mission: Space
Other attraction plans: Test Track single rider...we haven't really gotten very far in our Epcot plans yet. Tips appreciated! We definitely want to see Illuminations. We'll have 2+ days in Epcot, so I'm trying to figure out the best plan of attack.

Day 11 - Sun, Nov 27:

Football day. MIL is working on getting us tickets to see the Seahawks play in Tampa Bay. DH is VERY excited by this. I...get to spend 8 days in WDW! So I'm happy. ;)

Day 12 - Mon, Nov 28:
Check into Port Orleans - Riverside!
Park: Magic Kingdom! (there are morning EMH for AK, but I don't think we want to make the trek out there for them.)
Park Hours: 9 am - 10 pm
ADR: grazing for lunch; CINDERELLA'S CASTLE FOR DINNER!!! princess::jumping1::cheer2: at 9:40 pm (hoping to be able to get a window table and see Wishes! from inside the castle!! I'm very very excited about this...)
FastPass Plan: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan's Flight, Space Mountain
Other attractions: Everything! Magic Kingdom is my favorite. I'm excited to see New Fantasyland! Well, excited to see everything in general as it's been so long since I've been to MK. I've never been to any Disney parks during Christmas time so I'm super excited to see all the decorations! I'm waiting to see when the parade taping is so that I can find out what decorations we'll get to see when we're there. :santa: We'll have 2+ days in this park as well, so again, like Epcot, we're still trying to figure out the best plans for MK as well. I'm excited to leave the park after dinner in the Castle and take Disney transportation to our Disney hotel and crawl into a Disney bed and not have to leave the Disney bubble for a few days!

Day 13 - Tue, Nov 29:
Park: Epcot
Park Hours: 9 am - 9:30 pm; EMH - 9:30 pm - 11:30 pm (legit EMH since we're at the resort now!)
ADR: None so far. Anything we HAVE to try? I know I want fish and chips and a beer at Rose and Crown...
FastPass Plan: Frozen Ever After (if we didn't get it already) or Soarin' (again, if we haven't done it) or Test Track, Spaceship Earth and Mission: Space again probably, unless there are others anyone would recommend?
Other attraction plans: Still figuring this out...basically doing whatever we didn't get to on our other Epcot day. Maybe heading to the hotel for nap/pool time mid day. Probably some Meet & Greets. May try to check out somewhere for a night cap after the park closes if there's somewhere fun and then back to the hotel.

Day 14 - Wed, Nov 30:
Check out of the hotel. Have to figure out what to do with our bags while we're in the park all day...maybe a locker?
Park: Magic Kingdom
Park Hours: 9 am - 10 pm; EMH: 10 pm - 12 am
ADR: None so far. My MIL will be with us so I'm trying to decide the best place to take her. Somewhere in MK or maybe at one of the resorts?
FastPass Plan: whatever we didn't get to the other day
Other attraction plans: Still planning this. I want to give my MIL the classic Disney experience. ::MickeyMo::MinnieMo:tink:

Day 15 - Thu, Dec 1:
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! :santa::woohoo:
Daytime plan: I think we're going to try to sleep in a bit and then head on a little self-guided tour of the resorts to see all their Christmas decorations. Then we'll plan to be at the gate to MK by about 3:45 or so to get in at 4 pm for the Christmas party!
FastPass Plan: I've been doing a little reading on here about FP with your MVMCP ticket and it seems like it may not be an option, so this is up in the air.
ADR: Nothing yet. We do plan to eat something before 7 so we can get the most out of the party! I want to do a lot of M&Gs and enjoy the parades, fireworks, etc. Super excited for this! Anyone been to the parties before and have any fun tips?

Day 16 - Fri, Dec 2:
Last Disney Day... :( :sad1::sad:
Parks: Park Hopping!
Park Hours: MK - 9 am - 7 pm, EP - 9 am - 9:30 pm, HS - 9 am - 7 pm, AK - 9 am - 6 pm
FastPass Plan: Not sure yet! I guess it will depend on what I'm able to get when I start booking. I can't decide which park to do when and the best strategies for Park Hopping at WDW in general...it's quite different seeming from Disneyland where you just walk across the promenade!
Other plans: Crying, getting souvenirs, crying...lol. Basically we will just try to do anything we feel like we missed! Our flight out the next day is at 5:15 am (eww... o_O) so I'm trying to decide how late we want to stay out. We'll see!!!

Day 17 - Sat, Dec 3:
Flying home. We'll get to MCO at about 3:15 am...:coffee: Then we fly to Denver where we have a 7 hour layover! (That's what I get for getting super cheap plane tickets!) We're trying to decide if we'll try to take the train from the airport to downtown Denver (it's about 30-40 minutes I guess) and have lunch or something and then head back to catch our flight. Or we may be completely wipe and just hang out for 7 hours in the airport napping.;) Then we're off to Seattle and back to reality.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading and for offering any tips or advice! I am planning to update as I make more plans, as I get my FP reservations, and as I get my DisneyBounding outfits together! :) Bye for now!

DisneyBound Outfit Time!

I did a bit of shopping and started planning out some of my DisneyBound outfits today since I'm kind of in a waiting period before I can book FastPass. Amazon had some great deals on cute dresses and accesories!! :cool1:
Thought I'd share what I have so far! :)

I got an email today from Mousesavers telling me about a deal for hotels. I can save about $20 if I cancel my hotel reservations through Disney and re-book the same room through Undercover Tourist - buuuuuuuuut I'll have to pay in full up front, which isn't all that much more as we're only staying 2 nights. Is it worth the hassel for $20? Hmm....decisions...

Since I'm still playing the waiting game (7 days!!!) until I can select our Fast Passes, I've been passing the time by planning out (and buying...) every. single. outfit. for our two week trip! So, if anyone is interested on what I'll be wearing....here ya go! (There are a few minor changes on the ones that I'd posted before.)

Here are my DisneyBound (and PotterBound ;)) outfits in order of when I am planning to wear them. Other outfits which you can see in the link above are definitely Disney inspired or have cute Disney touches (classic Mickey shirts, etc.), but are not really full out DisneyBounding. :)

Fast Pass day is tomorrow!!!!!!!! (If I did my math right...)

I'm still a little confused on this as we're doing a weird split stay, but if everything works how I think (& hope) it will then I should be able to book my FP for the days we stay at the hotel (we check in the 28th) until the end of the trip. Then I'm hoping I can go back and make the FP for the previous days? I'm all sorts of confused, but hoping this all works out. I'm also concerned about what times to try to make FPs for. Is earlyish in the day best so we can do RD and then get some stuff knocked out in the first hour or so, then FP, then get additional FP? This FP+ thing is all so new to me. I just can't wait until (bright and early!!!:surfweb:) tomorrow so that I can figure out what is what!!

Any tips from my fellow DISers are greatly appreciated!

* * * Fast Pass Report! * * *

Welp, I did it! I had my first experience booking FastPass+!! Being way out here in Seattle, I was up at the wee wee hour of 4 am... But I think I got some good FastPasses and it wasn't as difficult and scary as I first thought! I'm trying to decide if I should get up early again tomorrow and the next day to get the FPs for the last 2 days of our trip (1 day MVMCP and last day Park Hopping). I'm a little sad to miss out on FAE. Also, I'm hoping that FPs become available for the Princess M&Gs, or that I'm able to standby them without too much of a wait. I'm also curious to see what happens when ROL opens and if I'll need to rearrange my AK FPs for that. But here's what I've got for now!:

Thursday, November 17 - Pool Day

Friday, November 18 - Hollywood Studios:

Toy Story Mania! - 12:05 PM - 1:05 PM
ADR - Hollywood Brown Derby - 1:35 PM
Star Tours - 2:35 PM - 3:35 PM
Tower of Terror - 3:40 PM - 4:40 PM

Saturday & Sunday, November 19 & 20 - Universal

Monday & Tuesday, November 21 & 22 - Cocoa Beach

Wednesday, November 23 - Animal Kingdom:

Expedition Everest - 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Kali River Rapids - 12:20 PM - 1:20 PM
Kilamanjaro Safaris - 5:35 PM - 6:35 PM (maybe do this early in the day and get ROL FP if needed)
ADR - Sanaa - 7:50 PM
Planning to hop over to MK after dinner and ride HM a bunch since it will be closed most of our trip! :(

Thursday, November 24 - Thanksgiving at my MIL & FILs

Friday, November 25 - Relax day

Saturday, November 26 - Epcot:

Soarin' - 10:40 AM - 11:40 AM
Mission: SPACE - 11:40 AM - 12:50 PM
ADR - Restaurant Marrakesh - 1:35 PM
Disney Pals at Character Spot - 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
May pop over to MK for a few more HM rides...I :hmghost:!

Tuesday, November 29 - Epcot:

Spaceship Earth - 12:25 PM - 1:25 PM
Mission: SPACE - 1:25 PM - 2:25 PM (did this because I didn't know what else to do. I've never been on this ride, so I have no idea really what it is or if we'll like it...lol)
ADR - San Angel Inn - 5:15 PM

Wednesday, November 30 (Check out of POR) - Magic Kingdom:
Space Mountain (again...DH loves it) - 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Splash Mountain - 11:45 AM - 12:45 AM
Meet Ariel at her Grotto - 12:50 PM - 1:50 PM (not sure how necessary this is...was planning on 7DMT but they were all really late in the day and I'd like to get 4th & more FPs. Planning to do 7DMT at closing time if SB is too long throughout the day. Also, was going to try for the Princesses here, but as mentioned, there aren't any FPs for this right now. o_O)

Thursday, December 1 - MVMCP!!! :santa::
Haven't gotten any FP for this yet. Debating waking up early again tonight...tomorrow?...to see about getting some from 4-6:30.

Friday, December 2 - Park Hopping:

Because of our weird split stay I haven't been able to get FP for our last day yet. I guess I'll have to get them the day after tomorrow? Still a little confused on when to get these. Maybe 30 days out since we're out of the hotel? IDK.o_O But I am not sure which park to try for anyways, since we'll be park hopping, so it'll give me time to think about it! Any advice? :)

Now that I've got most of my FPs booked, what is the next step for all you experienced WDW planners?

Thanks for following along! :)

Here I am :D Wow, I love all your Disneybounding outfits! Marie, Cinderella, Alice, Flower, can't wait to see pics of you in them! And I'm jealous of such a long trip, our longest was one 10-day stay in 2014 but it's hard between Steve's work schedule and the kids school/sports.

Of your ADR's my faves are Sanaa and Marrakesh, we love them both! Plus AKL is so gorgeous so besides having a great meal you can see the resort if you schedule in time to walk around both inside and out.

Even though we overlap a couple days, right now it looks like the only time we may cross paths is at AK on the 23rd. We're planning MK first and then AK later in the day, I assume by 5 if not earlier, so you may still be there :thumbsup2 And as for your FP's for 12/1 & 2 yes, I think you have to wait until 30 days out since you're off site then.
We're getting close! Look forward to reading more.

Yeah, I definitely feel super lucky that my DH will indulge in all my Disney obsession so we can go pre-kids...I'm sure we'll go even more once we have them, but it's fun to have just us time for now!

I've read some really good things about Sanaa & Marrakesh...can't wait to try them and I'm glad to hear you like them too!! We definitely plan on exploring AKL a bit. :)

We may just bumb into each other!! :D I did wake up for like 2 minutes to try FP for the 1st & 2nd and no luck...so just another Disney day to put on the calendar for 30 days out! :p

We are getting close.....YAY! party:

I think you get a rolling window with your FP booking so I *think* you should've been able to do the last day today?? Did you try it?

Also you should be able to use your Christmas party ticket to book FP. But I think you would need to do them for 3:30-4:30, 4:30-5:30, and 5:30-6:30 (they will cancel anything later I think). And they will let you in around 4pm.

Also you can leave your bags at POR at bell services if you want to, then go back and pick them up.

Love the Disneybounding outfits! Looking forward to more!

I was able to book FP for the Christmas party and the window now goes to our last day. However, when I tried to book FP for the last day it says we're at our FP limit. Can't figure out why!

That is a great tip about leaving our bags! Thanks!! :)

Well, here we are 37 (!!!!) days out and I'm just doing a bit of Disney planning/dreaming on this rainy Seattle Sunday night. Christopher, being the sweet husband he is, made me a cup of tea and brought out my favorite fall Disney mug - my Haunted Mansion mug!

IMG_0023.JPG

It is just too cool. :P

I made another ADR today...I just can't seem to have a single day in our trip plan that doesn't have one scheduled meal in there! I also did a little FP editing. I can't seem to make FP reservations for both our last day AND for the day we're at MVMCP, so I removed the ones I made for the party day and made FPs for our last day. Here is how our schedule stands with all the switcheroos:

Thursday, November 17 - Pool Day

Friday, November 18 - Hollywood Studios:

Hoping to be there for RD - I know we'll just be so excited to be in Disney, so this shouldn't be too hard. ;)
Toy Story Mania! - 12:05 PM - 1:05 PM
ADR - Hollywood Brown Derby - 1:35 PM
Star Tours - 2:35 PM - 3:35 PM
Tower of Terror - 3:40 PM - 4:40 PM
Wanting to do Fantasmic! this night - think we'll need a later in the day FP for this? Also, does anyone know if they've released what fireworks (if any) they'll have? Christopher is really hoping for SW...

Saturday & Sunday, November 19 & 20 - Universal

Monday & Tuesday, November 21 & 22 - Beach Days
We had originally planned for Cocoa Beach, but now we're not sure what we'll do. We have to plan this out more with my MIL and sFIL and also are wondering about damage due to Hurricane Matthew. Also, Christopher has really been talking a lot about St. Augustine (which I hear got hit kinda hard). He's been reading a lot about how it is the oldest city in the US and how there's this super cool old church there. We may end up heading there instead of Cocoa Beach or doing one day of each. :confused3

Wednesday, November 23 - Animal Kingdom:
Thinking we'll try to RD this day too (and fingers crossed every day if I can get DH outta bed!) and do a morning run of Kilamanjaro Safaris.
:( - (still so sad about this!)

Thursday, November 24 - Thanksgiving at my MIL & FILs

Friday, November 25 - Relax day
Might try to go to an orange grove or something? Anyone have any fun (non-park) ideas for the Orlando area? Was thinking about some shopping, but realized it's Black Friday, so that's a huge nope! :rotfl2:

Saturday, November 26 - Epcot:
Maybeeeee RD FEA??? I really want to try this one but DH keeps telling me to Let It Go. He thinks he's so funny. :rotfl::cool:
Soarin' - 10:40 AM - 11:40 AM
Mission: SPACE - 11:40 AM - 12:50 PM
ADR - Restaurant Marrakesh - 1:35 PM
Disney Pals at Character Spot - 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
May pop over to MK for a few more HM rides...I :hmghost:!

Sunday, November 27 - Football Game Day in Tampa

Monday, November 28 (Check into POR) - Magic Kingdom:

Space Mountain - 11:10 AM - 12:10 PM
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - 12:20 PM - 1:20 PM
Peter Pan's Flight - 2:10 PM - 3:10 PM
ADR - Fairytale Dining at Cinderella's Royal Table - 9:40 PM - really hoping to get a window table so we can see Wishes! There is no way to call ahead to request this, is there? :scratchin

Tuesday, November 29 - Epcot:
Test Track - 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Spaceship Earth - 12:25 PM - 1:25 PM
Mission: SPACE - 1:25 PM - 2:25 PM - may try to switch this one out. We'll see how we like it.
ADR - San Angel Inn - 5:15 PM
We will probably do Illuminations this night, if we haven't done it already.
Stayin' late for EMH! :) :) :)

Also, was going to try for the Princesses here, but as mentioned, there aren't any FPs for this right now. o_O)
ADR - Kona Cafe at the Polynesian - 2:30 PM - I'm excited to eat at the Poly! I remember walking through the resort as a kid and being super into it! I feel like it might be nice to have a little park break as well, since it will be a long day.
Staying late again for EMH! So excited for this. I'm a night owl, and Disney parks at night are so magical and beautiful. And with MVMCP the next day we can sleep in before our "hotel tour" to see the Christmas decorations. :thumbsup2

Thursday, December 1 - MVMCP!!! :santa::
Can't figure out how to get FP for this day. I am probably doing something wrong, but it just says we're at our FP limit. I'm not too super worried about it, as it means a day without too many set plans and some spontaneity, but it also makes me twitch having zero FPs... :faint: Any ideas on how this works? I am getting VERY excited for the party though! Christopher and I have our matching sweaters all ready to go!

Friday, December 2 - Park Hopping:
Buzz Lightyear - 10:05 - 11:05 AM
Space Mountain - 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Meet Mickey at Town Square - 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
I have no idea if these are a good idea... We don't really know what we'll want to be doing as far as Park Hopping for our last day, so I just kind of picked randomly.:confused3

Those are the FP & ADR updates for now. I'll be working on getting my Excel planning sheet all up to date hopefully this week. I purchased the full access pass to @kennythepirate Character Locator, because I love meeting the characters and hope we can get a lot of fun photos this trip. We're about to buy our Memory Maker here soon. I've been having a lot of luck on Swagbucks earning up money to get some Disney gift cards for the trip! :)

Until my next update, here are some photos from our very first trip to Disneyland together back in 2012...I've been revisiting old trip photos to get (even more) excited! :)
