We have an ADR for CM's on Thanksgiving morning. My kids are so excited about this. We have never been, but after reading the reports of constuction noise, dust, and bad smells, I began to second guess not only because of the construction, but because DD3, is asthmatic. I decided to write an e-mail to WDW and ask just how true the stories were. Well, 2 weeks had gone by and I figured I would never get a response, but today a member of Guest Realtions called. She was very nice, and without saying that any of the above was true, she did offer me my choice of dining establishments on Thanksgiving day. She said to speak with my party and give her a call back tomorrow. I was in shock. She was very understanding and said they wanted nothing but a "magical" experience for our family. So now we, (DH,DMIL, DFIL, and our DD's), are discussing our options. I never expected such great customer service. Just thought I would share. :goodvibes

I don't honestly know, my kids were so excited about CM's that I kind of want to do Ohana because of Mickey being there. We already have Donald's Safari breakfast later in the week, and we have done CP, and 1900 Park Fare. I'm not too sure of CRT, because of the 2TS credits. I think they might enjoy Akershus. Too many decisions!!:confused3

I have to let you know, there is a back area up about 3 steps behind the buffet. In this area we did not notice any smells, dust or sounds at all. I would keep the reservation but request this back room.

I have asthma as well and had a few moments on the trip where it was bothering me, and Chef Mickeys was not one of them.

Enjoy!!

This was the same for us too. We ate at CM a few weeks ago. My twins have asthma, and we sat in the back area. We didn't notice any smells, dust, or sounds. They had no problems with their breathing.

I've had Guest Services call me several times over the years if something has come up that I questioned or wondered about... they are great at getting back to you.

If you need an alternate... may I suggest Whispering Canyon? It's a nice breakfast... they have games, etc going on for the kids and it's a fun place to be.

We ate breakfast at CM last week, and honestly, we didn't notice any smell or dust from the construction. And CM is so noisy anyways, if there was construction noise, we didn't hear it. Ask to be seated in the back section (far away from the construction) and you won't notice anything at all.

We had breakfast there the last week in Aug. e had no problem and did not notice anything that you had mention. We love Chef Mickey's. :worship:

Our room at the Contemporary last week was on the 7th floor, bay side, at the juncture where the construction and CM's meet. Both time we ate at CM's (breakfast and dinner) we were seated at the same 2-person table right against the wall separating CM and the construction. We didn't smell anything or have any breathing trouble but neither of us is asthmatic.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks to all for the well wishes and suggestions. We have decided to keep the Thanksgiving ressie at CM's for my older 3 DD's sake, but I am going to take younger one to Akershus. I called this morning and she was able to get me a great dining time and our plans were to tour the Boardwalk later in the day anyway, so the rest of the family will just meet us at the International Gateway. I just can't chance it, after the last two asthma attacks ended up with her in the ER. Great vacation wishes to all! :goodvibes

Good choice!!!

She will LOVE the princesses!!! :goodvibes

I agree. Don't chance it. My youngest has "reactive airway disease", which is pediatrician for "your kid's got asthma, but we're not gonna tell the insurance that."

One more restaurant warning...DD had a terrible asthma attack at Teppan Edo, the Japanese restaurant in Epcot where they cook the food in front of you.
