I was not sure where to post this question, so I thought that I would start here.

The granddaughter of a friend from work has been granted a Wish by the Make a Wish Foundation. The little girl has a rare heart condition (forgive me I do not know all the details.) She has had several surgeries in her short life. If I am correct she turns 5 this year. Anyway, her wish was to go to WDW. She is going Aug. 14 for 7 days. She will be accompanied by her parents.

The grandmother has been told that she may accompany the family for the trip. They are traveling by rental car and she has been told that she can stay in the room with the family, so she is only responsible for food and park tickets.
We are waiting on the official paperwork to determine what type of plan the GD will be using. However, we are assuming that they are probably on the 7 for 5 deal.

What we were wondering is if it is possible for her to book the package, without the room charge and how this would be handled. We assumed that there would be the standard extra adult charge for the room, but wanted to know about the tickets. She wants to be on a comparable plan to theirs, so that she can participate in the same things, i.e. water parks, etc.

Thanks for your help. I hope that this message makes sense.

How very special for little girl. That is great that GM can go too.

I think it would be best to wait and see what kind of package the family is getting. The GM can purchase length of stay UPH and then she would have the same tickets for everything like the rest of the family.

My son received a trip to WDW from a wish program also. We stayed at Kids World Village in Kissimmee. We were each given 3 or 4 1-day non-hopper park passes plus tickets to Universal Studios and Sea World. Wait until you find out EXACTLY what the wish entails and go from there. Take lots of pictures and preserve your memories. My son died 10 months ago and the last movie he asked to watch was the home video from his wish trip. I'm glad there are groups out there to help families have positive memories.

You might want to try posting over on the Disabilities board. I know that there is a thread on there right now about Give kids the world village.

We are going in Dec with whole family. one DD was born with a heart condition, still struggling with it, she goes into the hospital tomorrow for yet another procedure.

Good luck.

Thanks for the input so far everyone. The GM is very excited about being able to go with them. Her GD has been extremely sick (I think that she has to have a small oxygen tank with her most of the time now.) The doctors can make no predictions.

The Make A Wish people said that they will be getting the final paperwork probably next week. Then I will repost for advice about GM options.

My friend told me to thank everyone for their help. The last time that she went to WDW was back when it was only the MK. So she had no idea what to do. But after my experience here, I knew that you all would be loads of help!!!

Hopefully, it will be a magical trip for that family!!!princess:
