After canceling HH because of Covid-19 changing plans to do WDW in December with just the wife and I. Never been to WDW with just the two of us. Always went as a group minimum of four or as many as ten. So it was always rides, eating , some shows and whatever the group was doing. So was wondering if anyone else just went as two adults and what were some of things they did. I love all the rides but my wife is a little more laid back in that category. Also what about outside the parks or off property. Cape Canaveral is definitely on the list but was wondering what else. I thank you ahead of time for all the response's.

I have done it many times. When I did it this summer and we decided no parks...we were only there for 2 days before a stay elsewhere...we visited the monorail resoerts and has a drink at each,

Took a bus to MK from SSR. Walked to Contemporar. Took boat to Wilderness Lodge and started there...then made stops back at Contemporary, Poly, and GF.

It was a great and relaxing afternoon!

You'll be there while the Christmas decorations are up, so I would recommend resort hopping through most of the Deluxes (Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian and Animal Kingdom at least). I'd also recommend wandering around World Showcase to look at all the decorations, especially at night. It's fun to take some time to go around Disney Springs if you like to shop. We don't have any kids, so it's always just the both of us. We do a lot of sit down meals (one per day generally) and just take a more relaxed pace around property. I'd also recommend grabbing a drink at some of the bars around property especially Nomad Lounge and Geyser Point.

It depends a lot on whether you have a car or not. On property, another nice thing to do is to take a carriage ride or rent a golf cart at Fort Wilderness, which is really well decorated for the holidays. Take in the gingerbread displays in the Deluxe resort lobbies and enjoy some of the music at the many locations around property at night. If you have a car, the Kennedy Space Center is worth at least a full day or two. Adjacent to the Cape are also the Canaveral National Seashore or Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge if you enjoy natural vistas. Going further north, Manatee Springs State Park may have manatees over-wintering in the waters. If you have never been, Saint Augustine has a myriad of tourist activities worth another whole day, with a fort and historical area filled with gift shops and quiet places to eat. It is a bit of a drive, but do-able and very worthwhile. Make sure to dress for variable weather!

We went just for a couple of days last year to see the last Illuminations showing (first trip for just the two of us since DD1 was born 13 years ago). One of our favorite things to do when it's just the two of us is go around Epcot seeing shows and stopping at all the food booths. We can spend much of a day doing that and never eating a "meal." You won't be there during F&W but I would expect similar Christmas booths.

I like a lot more rides than my wife. We went for 10 years before having a child and now going again as a couple now that our daughter is 20. We are comfortable splitting up some of the time, and as others have said we enjoy just wandering EPCOT, seeing entertainment, and going for F&W and F&G festivals. We always hang out at the resort pool for more time as well.

My DH and I have gone many times with just the two of us and we have always had a very good time. Now we drive to FL from NJ, once we get there my DH wants to park the car and not see it again for the duration of our visit. No need to drive around WDW as the transportation supplied has always been good and we find WDW a little confusing and not that easy to navigate.

This past Jan we rode the Skyliner several time. We usually always stay at BW so we take the boat to Epcot to get the Skyliner. One day we explored the new RR, very nice resort and enjoyed an adult beverage at the poolside lounge. Another day we took the boat to Epcot where we got on Skyliner to HS, from HS we took a bus to OKW, we took a boat from OKW to DS were we spent several hours walking around and getting a drink at our favorite watering hole the Lava Lounge behind the Rain Forest. The Lava Lounge is a great spot to watch the activities on the water, the amphibious cars and people watch. I know this was a very round about way to get to DS from BW but it was fun to see WDW from so many different vantage points. Riding the boat from OKW you get to see parts of the "world" that you usually don't see.

Another day we went to MK for a few hours after which we took a boat to Wilderness Lodge and got a bite to eat along with adult beverage at Geyser Point. We always make a point to visit Geyser Point at least once during our trips, wonderful views from this location. After our visit to Geyser Point we took the boat back to CR where we got the monorail back to Epcot. Walked to IG and boated back to our resort.

Another option for the MK area is to ride the monorail and resort hope at the MK resorts enjoying and adult beverage at each resort if you are so inclined. I guess you can see that the options are as limited as your imagination, There are many, many options of things to do while at WDW for a party of two to enjoy.

I'm sure that whatever you decide to do you will have a wonderful time. Enjoy! :wizard:

We often go as 2 adults. My hubby is not even a Disney fan, lol but loves that I love it. Heck, I still tear up each visit to MK! I often do rides alone as he can’t. We see the resorts, parks.. people watch and lots of laughs. Meandering is my favorite past time. A nice sit down dinner each day, a carriage ride, dinner show, art class was awesome, cocktails at monorail resorts. Cocktails at ds. Disney offers so much to do.. or not. We even catch a movie once in a while. I often relax in a lobby and journal while hubby sleeps in. Just Enjoy!! While I greatly enjoy our many group and reunion type trips I truly enjoy our relaxing, just us two Visits.

I had an adults only trip booked for the beginning of April. I booked some extras that I wouldn't have reserved with the whole family, like the Behind the Seeds tour and the Savor the Savanna safari experience. I would look at some of the tours and add-on experiences, some might appeal to you. I'm looking forward to my "make-up" trip next year!

My Wife and I have been far more times without others -kids and grands- then with. We love WDW at our pace. We book “placeholder“ fast passes and usually 1 signature dinner for a 4 night stay. We spend a lot of time at our resort always in a 1 BR with our own groceries. We have greatly enjoyed DVC tasting events - wine at Jiko and OKW, bourbon at TOTWL and cocktails at WL. We also enjoyed the behind the seeds tour. We regularly go in December as well and love taking in the decorations. We hope this December to stay BWV or BCV and make a point of enjoying the country specific Christmas stories or events. Here’s to hoping we can 😊.

DH and I went by ourselves for 7 nights this past September. We did rides we wanted, signature dinners every night, swam at the SAB pool, lounged at a cabana there most of Saturday, saw shows did MNSSHP, AK and MK After Hour events, the safari with dinner out at the Boma where we saw lots of animals, shopped some, met friends at HS one evening, visited all the deluxe resorts (stayed at YC) and just moved at our pace, skipped a few of our FP because we weren’t feeling it then. Just spoiled ourselves by doing what we wanted when we wanted. It was great!

My wife and I went as a twosome following a wedding we attended in Ocala. We are in our sixties and had a great time. A lot more laid back pace wise and had reservations at some of the nicer restaurants.

Great idea to make a day trip over to Kennedy Space Center. In December, all of the DVC resorts are decorated for the Christmas season.

We've been going as just the two of us for a few years now. Our last trip in January, we had been watching stuff on television at home, so we continued on with that at BLT. We went to Epcot the day we arrived to eat at the outdoor kitchens for the Festival of the Arts, but made a few last minute dining reservations each night. We wound up eating at places we hadn't eaten for years or hadn't eaten at all, like Chef Mickey's and Trail's End. Our one day trip to Epcot for the food kitchens was our only theme park visit on that trip. All our trips now seem to fall during festival times so we can eat at the food kitchens. If Disney decides to shut those down for the next year or so, we will probably still go, but just enjoy the resort.

Other trips we usually eat out a lot, either counter service or table service, both onsite and off and we don't often make ADRs any more until we decide we want to eat.

We've moved to SW Florida in the past few years, so our trips are now three or four nights versus seven to ten nights like we did when we lived 850 miles away. We're now about three hours away instead of 15 hours away (we always drive). Having a car lets us go off site for dining, too.
