WDW & 4 MONTH old - Tips PLEASE

I really need any tips from those of you who have gone to the world w/ an infant. Here are the facts: DD (12yo), myself, DS (He's 4 months old) are flying to the world in 9 days. DH is staying home. DS is nursing, but we do supplement w/ bottles sometimes. I'm pumping too. Using Magical Express to get us to & from airport. We are staying @ ASMovie (4dys), then Port Orleans-FQ (2dys). His carseat attaches to his stroller, its collapsable but kinda bulky. My main questions: Can we use a carseat on the Magical Express bus? Should we bring our stroller, buy an umbrella stroller, or rent? If we bring ours & use disney transport to the parks, is it gonna be a pain? Has anyone had their stroller taken? Any suggestions to find mine in a crowd of strollers? Does anyone know where to buy an umbrella stroller that the back lays down? Do the backs lay down on the rentals? What's it called when two people want to ride the same ride, but they have to take turns staying w/ the babies? trading off or swapping off? I know I can tell a CM & they will take me to where the rider gets off & then I can get on & not have to wait in line again. I really can't wait to go, just want to be prepared & make it an easier & enjoyable trip. Thanks in advance.

We went last Sept. with our 3 kids, DS7, DD6 & DD 3mo. We did not take our infant seat. I just held her on Magical Exp. I don't remember seeing seat belts (I also held her on the plane and nursed during take off & landing). There are baby care centers in the park that are great for nursing and a break from the heat. I also nursed on alot of the rides and during shows. DH just asked for the back row and I used a nursing cover. Worked out great.

You should bring a stroller. The rental strollers at the parks are more for toddler age not infants. I would bring a stroller that can fully recline, has a sunshade, large storage compartment but is also light enough that you & your DD can handle transporting it on & off the bus while the other handles the baby. I used a Baby Bjorn alot on our trip also. We have never had our stroller stolen, we usually buy a balloon to tie on it so we can find it faster or tie a brightly colored bandana on the handle. Strollers can be a pain but really your only option with a baby that small. I would just make sure your DD can handle it if she has to carry it on & off the bus. I don't know if there are any umbrella strollers that recline. Go to www.allearsnet.com there is a section for travelling with infants and also pics of the strollers, you may have to browse through the website to find the pics. This is a great website though.

Also, when we ate, we tried to get a table with at least 1 side like a booth and I would let DD lie down and kick for awhile as I ate next to her. I hope this helps some.

We went in October with DS (4), DD(2) and DB 3 months. We took our own double stroller for the little ones. The Disney ones won't work for an infant and aren't avilable outside the parks. We also brought our car seat for things like carrying the baby around the resort/a seat by pool or at dinner. The rest areas are great places to nurse and change diapers (although in Epcot try and plan because its quite a hike to get there if you aren't nearby).

We had a great trip, but I'd suggest setting a more leisurely pace with a newborn.

It's called baby swap and you tell the CM before you get in line and they will tell you how to do it for that ride. Car seats are not used on ME or disney transportation. Have fun just keep the baby cool and hydrated and you will be fine.

If you need to pump in the parks (I was EPing during our last trip), they have outlets for your pump next to each rocking chair in the nursing rooms of the Baby Care Centers. I'm not sure if you have an electric or manual pump, though. I was able to plug in and go in these rooms. very convenient!

OUr daughter was 5mo when we took her last September and the best decision we made for that trip was to bring her entire travel system. She was most comfortable in that, slept most of the time in the reclined position and it also provided full coverage from the sun. I'm not sure that an umbrella stroller could provide that much comfort for a newborn.

I can not comment on a stroller since my youngest is now eight but the last time we went to Disnet it was July and very hot. We noticed that many people had little stroller fans that clipped on to the stroller. I thought this was a great idea because with the sun shade up, a stroller doesn't always have the best air circulation. Also, I would bring a waterproof stroller cover. Our stroller once got caught in a sudden downpour and was then wet for a few days after. Even when you place a stroller in a dry area, the CMs are always moving them.
