I know this place gets mixed reviews, but I was thinking that with all the crazy antics, lunch might be better for my 3yo and 6yo, rather than at the end of the day when they(and we) are tired from being in the parks all day.

What do you think? We're staying at the WL, so we could also use this as our afternoon break as well, and hang in the room for a while after lunch.

I'm curious because for some reason, lunch is so easy to get here, but dinner is hard to get. I wonder why?

we just ate lunch there a couple weeks ago. We did lunch in march there too. We went the latest we could get for lunch, it was about 2pm. It was not crowded at all, plenty of open tables.. ok lots and lots! Our waiter did no antics, nor did he have the personality for it.. he was very softspoken. There was a waiter who was giving a hard time to two little boys. Their waiter was LOUD! They did the loud parade too. I dont think i would enjoy it if it was busy b/c there is enough going on when it's not. I say go for the lunch!
On our first trip the ribs in the skillet were great and this time they were sooo fatty it was inedible. Milkshakes were good though! They had cute toy story coloring packets for the kids.. or adults! You're lucky to be staying there.. its a beautiful resort!!!

Service is a hit and miss. While I do not recommend WCC, I would recommend that you get an early dining time to improve your chances getting served your entire lunch and maybe get an antics or two....

Disney has a lot of marketing campaign and dining plans that promote 30-40% savings. To obtain this you will need to use your TS meal tickets at dinner time. Combine this with many guest prefer not to leave a park for a meal and it is easy to to get lunches at resorts..along with CMs (servers) appear to have a greater energy level at dinner.

I've heard it's hit or miss with the servers...my DH is a bit on the shy side, so it might be okay if we get a dud. ;) I've heard the food has gone downhill and is more fatty too. I just figure we're staying right there, so it's not like we're going out of our way...and if we hate it, so be it! Glad to hear you enjoyed your lunch. :goodvibes

By early dining time, do you mean like an early dinner? Or do you mean lunch? We actually have a 5:00 dinner ADR, but right now I also have a CP at 1:00 on the same day (I've been moving some ADR'S around) so unless I can move CP, that won't work. I also have a 5:15 ADR the night before, but that is on a night that spectromagic is at 7:00 and I fear that is too late. This is why I'm considering lunch.

Yes, it is more wise to do dinners while on the dining plan from a financial standpoint. For us, since the DP is 'free' (well, for all intents and purposes) we're more concerned with timing our reservations so that they work for us, rather than get the most 'bang for the buck.' And with two young kids -- I'd like to mix up the dinners with a couple of lunches and a breakfast or two thrown in. Plus, in this case, we're staying at the WL anyway. But thanks for explaining the easy-to-get lunch ADR's - that makes sense.
