Hi - I am anxiously awaiting my bottomless milkshake at our first visit there in August. YUMMY! Since I know that the milkshake plus appetizer will fill me up and because we have a no-park day scheduled the next day. I plan on bringing home most/all of my main course to have for lunch at the resort the next day.

So....I know that they bring a 'skillet' of stuff to your table if you order a skillet...my question is - will they let you bring it to go? Or is it like a buffet where you obviously can't fill a to-go box? I mean, they wouldn't be able to give anyone else the food that's already been at your table - so I would think taking it to go would be ok? If not - I'll just order one of the other choices from the menu.

Does anyone have any experience with this? THANKS!

Good question.

I'm not sure they'll bring it out "to go", as it's all you can eat, and I seem to remember SOMETHING on the menu about not being able to bring home leftovers of the skillets (probably to prevent people from asking for an additional skillet JUST to bring home at the end of the meal).

That being said, when we were finished up last time we ate there in Jan of '06, we had some stuff left over. Our waiter asked if we wanted to pack it up..and we did (little midnight snack for my wife and I). Now, we obviously hadn't asked for "refills" just to take home, so that may have had something to do with it, but it may all depend on your server.

Thanks Pilferk - I am guessing that you are right - it will be at the descretion of our server. So, maybe I'll just ask him/her upfront and explain that I only would want one 'refill' to begin with.

Thats exactly what I would do before ordering.....just explain your situation. I'd have to say, just about every server I've ever had at WDW has been friendly and reasonable. If you say something like "I'm thinking of ordering the skillet, but I think it might be too much food....if I can't eat it, can I take it home?"...I think you'll be all set.
