WCC or Trails end ??

Anyone have an opinion on which is better for dinner? It's me,dh,ds15,dd13.
Also, is Trails end a buffet or just served family style?
How far of a drive from WL to FTW (we have a car).

We prefer the food at Trail's End. It is a buffet. They have wonderful fried chicken and ribs. Trail's End shares a kitchen with HDDR, so you get the same great fried chicken at both place. FYI, we were told by a CM that WCC gets their BBQ ribs and chicken from the Trail's End kitchen.

WCC has a fun atmosphere with all the antics. Your boys might get a real kick out of the staff here. We were so disappointed in the skillet last time we went. The food was dry like it had been sitting in a steam table some where a while.

Both have positives. Trail's End much better food! WCC fun spirited staff.

I would ride the boat from WL to FW. It is a short drive from WL, but you park in the front parking lot and then ride the internal bus to Trail's End. If you ride the boat, the restaurant is a short walk from the dock.

Another vote for Trails End. DO NOT DRIVE from WL to FW it will take longer than using Disney transportation. You of course can take a boat or there is also a bus between the resorts, the bus will drop off about the same distance from TE as the boat will. The boat ride is prettier than the bus, the bus tends to be a little faster. Alternativly there is also a walkway between the resorts that is a nice 20 min walk(it is not lit so daylight walking only).

I also vote for Trails End...it is a buffet...has a GREAT breakfast, and good lunch or dinner as well. If you go for dinner just ride the boat, or if you are in the mood for a walk there is a nice trail connecting Ft Wilderness and the WL (probably a 15 minute walk, or a nice bike ride if you want to rent bikes). Leave time to wander through the horse barn and visit with the Main Street horses that pull the trolley.

It will make for a relaxing evening.

Thanks for the advice. I think we'll go to Trails end since we'd like to do carriage ride too. I've been looking for other things to do besides fight the masses at the parks since we'll be there during xmas/new years week !!
Maybe we'll drive to WL and check out their decorations then take the boat to FW for a more laid back evening.

We've never been to Trails End, and I know it gets rave reviews here, but IMHO WCC can be a blast! Your kids will love it! Trail's End is simply a buffet, but WCC can be (if you get the right server) an experience. Plus, we enjoyed the food greatly at WCC.
