The only ADR I could get for Whispering Canyon Cafe was for 9:20. I'm not worried about our group since eating late when on vacation doesn't bother us since we nap and snack accordingly but will the CM's be tired out, and will the food be... well, tired out? Has anyone been there for a late dinner?

I am giving this a bump. We have a late adr as well

The food stinks. Doesn't matter what time of day or night.

Wow, people are being really negative this weekend. Why even post something like this?? This is completely off the OP's topic. No matter where you go, some people will love it, some will hate it.

Now, to answer the actual topic of the post, I think it depends on what your plans are for the day as to how tired you will be. You said that you plan on napping, so I wouldn't worry about it. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the food or CMs either. They are used to the hours of the restaurant and I am sure plan accordingly. Though not at WCC, we had several late ADRs last year and had no problems!

We had a late WCC ADR last trip and let me tell you, that place is always rockin'! no worries. Also, the food is really good, I had maple glazed pork chops, they were really excellent!
I was most worred about getting back to our resort but here's a tip...When all else fails, take the bus to downtown disney then hop your bus home.
Have a great time at WCC!!!

Janet

We ate at WCC a few weeks ago and had a 9:40pm ADR. It was GREAT! We are a party of 2 adults, so we didn't get the same attention that a family might get. However, I don't like being singled out in a room full of people so this worked out just fine for me. Our server, Slick Pete, was hilarious and had our whole section in tears we were laughing so hard.

The two pre-teen girls sitting at the table behind us were checking out a teenage boy from another table and slick Pete brought him over with 2 other middle-aged men for an impromptu dating game. The ketchup and crayons were flying, another server was singing, and it was a chaotic madhouse!

I thought the food was wonderful. I've never had pulled pork before, but it's now a favorite of mine after eating at WCC. The BBQ sauce is very thick and sweet, and the cornbread was moist.

Howdy! :goodvibes Tell me more about this place... it sounds like we might have to go! Is it at a park or resort? How does it compare (entertainment wise) to 50's Primetime Diner? Same fun type of antics? I love Disboards... I learn so much! Thanks:)

I love late reservations. I don't feel as rushed to eat and get out like eating dinner between 5pm and 7pm.

We stayed at the WL this past September, and walked around the hotel around the 9p hour, and it was so loud!!!! I didn't get the impression at all that the CMs were tired. :goodvibes

I have many good meals at Disney, and virtually dine exclusively on property when I'm there. This place didn't provide one. I thought that food quality is a germane aspect of a desire to make a reservation. There are only two places I mention as bad, and this is one of them.

Sorry to be "off topic" on a dining board with a comment on food quality.

I have had many late reservations at different resteraunts over the years. My family likes to take advantage of park time, and eat late in the night. The CMs are still loud and energenic, even after 9:00 pm. The food is still good too. I wouldnt worry about a late ADR, you will still have a good time.

It is at the Wilderness Lodge Resort, and it is a whole lot of fun. Do a search for threads about it, and you will see more about the fun experiences people have. We had a late dinner, about 9:30. Our server threw about 25 straws in the middle of our table when she brought our drinks, we used them all :goodvibes We asked her to take our picture with our digital camera, and she did, then took one of herself, then took one of her and another server and then took another of people at a table across the room. It was my DH's 35th birthday, so they called him and the kids up and gave them stick horses and they had to ride around the room, and he had to sing "Happy birthday to ME" as he rode or they would make him ride again, while the rest of the patrons had to wave their napkins in the air. :rotfl2: We still have the certificates :goodvibes If you ask for ketchup, everyone in the restaurant has to bring you their ketchup bottles, so you end up with a dozen on your table, and the kids just can't wait till someone else calls for ketchup so they can run them over to the next "victim". They have an all you can eat skillet, but if someone in your party doesn't order that and they try yours, well, something happens ;) The server next to us was putting straws in everyone's hairdo's at their table. It is alot of fun. Check out allearsnet.com for more info and a menu.
