I know when we were looking at the group photos, this little girl was either making faces or sitting similar to this!:lmao:

Everybody please wish me luck today at 2pm for our first psychiatrist appt. I'm nervous because I have to stress the urgency of Tyler hurting kids every single day (for no reason at all, purely impulsive the teachers say), while his dad & stepmom counter with the fact that they just don't believe it because they've never seen it happen. A teacher commented to me yesterday that his dad seemed shocked to hear of a couple such incidents last week, he seemed like he'd never heard of Tyler doing something like this. Good grief, this is tricky. :headache:

Holly, all the best for you and Tyler today

Piratepoint is George.

Mrs Gator family is Brenda. Could be hubby Scott close to her.

Looks like we're back to the pre-cruise posting levels! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I leave for 3 1/2 days and I had 25+ pages on the old thread and 45 on this new one!

Read the ones on the old thread and will now try to catch up here.

I had a good time with my niece this weekend....my nephew, well that's another story. He has a major attitude....wasn't expecting it at 12 but should have seeing who his father is. Dad (even tho he is involved in Ian's life) is a pain in the patootie....doesn't act like an adult....no rules (can do what he wants whenever he wants), no responsibility (ex-doesn't make Ian brush his teeth or eat veggies), no consequences for Ian for not doing what he is told.

Now Ian is yelling at his mother that he wishes she was dead, he wishes he could live with his dad...gets mad at her for any and all boundries she tries to set. He even yelled at me! Before his mother had left the house she said that he was supposed to brush his teeth and change his clothes (this was probably about 10am). When I then reminded him of that at about 1030am, he got mad at me and said that I was the worst (cuz I wanted to enforce what Lisa had told him to do).....I replied "yep, and I flew up here for your birthday"......may have to rethink his bday next year....it'll depend on how he is during the next year.

I feel so bad for my sister....1st my ex-bil walks out on her & their 4 yo son, and now he gets to be the "fun" parent and she gets to be the one who sets the rules.

He is also extremely selfish (again thanks to his dad who doesn't think of anyone other than himself).....he started to show some of this on his last bday but it's really bad now. Doesn't care for the people (including BIL David's father, mother & brother) that were at the house for bday cake & celebration...only wanted the gifts and had to even be prompted to say thank you. I know that I don't know that many 12yos but the ones that I do know aren't this bad.

Sydney was a doll....she & I got to spend alot of time together....my sister & bil are fixing up his old townhouse to get on the market, so I got to babysit while the 2 of them worked on the house. I wasn't complaining at all! :lovestruc She now knows how to blow kisses and give kisses.....melted my heart every day :lovestruc :goodvibes

Going to go back to read now....check in later.

Glad to see you back Monica. Sorry about your nephew's behaviour. Being 12, and having a problem dad is messing him up somewhat.

Glad you enjoyed time with Sydney and the rest of the family.

i watched the other boleyn last night, it was good. the book of course was better.

how was the vodak book? I saw it the other day and thought of getting it but wanted to see what you thought.

I'm reading The other Boleyn girl now....really enjoying it.

I have to say that Grumpy John doesn't look too thrilled at being in that photo with soft toy!!!:rolleyes1 (Dare I use that term on here?:scratchin :duck: )

Are you kidding.....he's with HIS webster......he LOVES his webster. I don't think he likes being up so early in his PJs out and about before coffee!

Look at the other picture of the breakfast group and John put Webs up on top of Mickey!

Webster has been on every vacation with us since the beginning of his time with us.....and it's been a long time.

:rotfl2: Sorry John - the camera obviously caught you at a bad moment.

Monica,
I'm so sorry to hear about the difficulties with your nephew! Poor kid, he's in a difficult situation but that doesn't change the fact that he's unpleasant to be around. I have this fear that my nephew will one day become an adolescent that doesn't want to hang with his aunt. He's 10 now, and so far still thinks I'm fun! We're going to see Wall-E this Fri. and are going to DL in July. But every time I see him I think I'd better make the most of it because who knows how much longer I have! Thank goodness your little niece is a sweetie. Sounds like your trip was bittersweet. Welcome back!:goodvibes

Welcome Back Monica! Waiting to see the pics of how much little Sydney has grown. Don't worry about Ian.....it's the age.....he's almost a teen. He will grow out of it. We're happy you're back coz we missed you!

Good Luck Holly......one step closer to getting meds and having a more normal life. It sounds great. Don't worry about the ex and his wife, just stick to your guns for Tyler's sake.

Now Deb - after all these years you don't get him coffee first thing??? What were you thinking of?:rotfl2:

I do not Marilyn. Ut Oh! At home, he does coffee on Saturday mornings and I do it on Sunday mornings. On Mickey's boat, we do room service coffee every morning. That morning we didn't because we just took off for breakfast pictures......Pictures Before Coffee......WHAT!

Monica, welcome back! Sorry things were rough with Ian. Maybe puberty might be having an effect on his emotions? I don't know, but it sure doesn't help having a crappy dad. Don't worry though, you'll eventually see the return of the loving nephew you know and love, I'm sure. :goodvibes

Thanks for the well-wishes everybody, the appointment went surprisingly well. The doctor was suprised to learn the next appt, the one where he evaluates Tyler, isn't until 7/22, with the final appt being 7/24, so he walked us to the checkout desk and instructed the receptionist to keep Tyler's file sitting right next to her computer as a reminder that the first cancellation belongs to us. :thumbsup2 Turns out the Dr. used to be a special ed teacher for a number of years before becoming a psychiatrist, so he had some great tips for keeping Tyler learning over the summer.

Glad that went well Holly. I hope she gets things moving.
