WBC vs Lake Buena Vista Resort?

We are newly planning a trip to Disney for Sept 2015. It will be my family - me, dh and 3 kids (7, 3,3) and my sister's family - sister, bil, 3 kids (13, 3 &2).

We are leaning towards staying offsite and have heard great things about WBC. We would love to stay together in a 4 bedroom unit but have been told that WBC is renovating their 4 bedrooms during Sept/Oct so we won't be able to get one. We are considering 2 2bedroom units but would like to be as close to each other as possible and they can't guarantee that.
We've also started looking at Lake Buena Vista Resort and they have a 4 bedroom unit available. It seems a bit further away from MK??

Anyone have experience over which they'd prefer and why?

Thank you!

Stayed at WBC a couple times, love the resort. I have watched them build the LBV Resort and Spa and driven through the lot a few times. There really is no comparison in size nor amenities, WBC is very large built around a lake with many pools, hot tubs and more. LBV is in two sections split by parking lot and attached to an outlet mall on one side - interstate on other side. It looks very very nice on the outside. From experience I know WBC has lots of activities in addition to all the pools etc. Last month while there Gatorland made their weekly appearance and DS got to hold an alligator - probably 3-4 ft long one. Maybe someone who has stayed can answer about LBV activities.

WBC is not Disney property but it is boxed in so it's entrance is on Disney property making it a very easy drive to anywhere on property. The LBV is down 535 south of I-4 but I've stayed down that way often and it's not a bad commute to the parks. Probably 10 minutes from condo to MK parking lot. You will have the advantage of a short drive to lots of restaurants that are off property and if the outlet mall is a draw, there is one right there you can walk over to.

If you google map then go satellite you can get a good idea of what the resorts look like in size, layout and the surrounding area.

WBC has 4 bedroom condos located in all of the different buildings. Building 6 is the one scheduled for work in Sept & Oct of 2015.
try: www.vacationupgrade.com to see if Ken Price can not give you a price on a 4 bedroom for the dates you want. The time I stayed and had 2 - 2 bedrooms we were located across the hall from each other - the 4 bedroom was a much better fix. The 2 - two bedrooms are really not big enough for all 10 of you - table seats 6. Also the kids banged doors all day long running from one condo to the next. I am sure our neighbors hated us on that trip. The 4 bedroom gives each family their wing with a large center area for all to be together for meals & visiting. Also the 4 bedroom has a very large balcony so lots of room to sit out there and visit. I think all the 4 bedrooms are located on the upper floors so you have a great view of the center pond or the surrounding area.

Thank you both!

I had actually previously emailed Ken about the 4 bedroom. He said there's not even 1 night available in a 4 bedroom the entire month, unfortunately.
