My daughter and two of her cousins are traveling to Disney on December 26th. They will be joining my niece, and the four cousins will be having a wonderful Disney experience. :)

During their trip my niece will be celebrating her 21st birthday. I am looking for ideas to help make this a special birthday event. Any ideas?

Does anyone know if it is possible to have a character (Princess Jasmine or Stitch) come see her?

I want it to be a surprise.

Thank you for your input.

I don't have any great suggestions because I'm a DIS newbie but I wanted to tell you how sweet you are for doing this :goodvibes

I have no idea! This thread is always super helpful though, and I'm sure someone will be able to tell you!

Welcome to the DIS! :cheer2:

Do you mean a private meet with them? I know you can have characters at Disney weddings, receptions etc. so you probably could but it is expensive.

Will everyone in the group be 21+. A night a Pleasure Island maybe?

An illuminations or wishes cruise (These would likely all be booked by now but you never know. Someone could cancel).

A treasure hunt (or something less expensive) by http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/

A behind the scenes tour.

Dinner at Downtown Disney with tickets for Cirque du Soleil

Spa treatments

If it's warm enough, parasailing, wakeboarding or tubing.

Myst

P.S. Editing as I think of things.

You can contact the Disney florist and see about having a basket or something in the hotel room when they arrive. Are they staying at a Disney hotel? Here is their website which includes their phone number: http://www.disneyflorist.com/ That might be a good place to start.

Also, do you know what restaurant they are eating at for her birthday? Is it a Disney restaurant? If so, you can call the restaurant directly and see if they can set something up (balloons, or a cake or something). For that you can call Disney Dining (1-407-WDW-DINE) and ask for the number to the specific restaurant they are eating at.

You could ask for specific suggestions for surprises at either the hotels or the restaurants on the seperate hotel and restaurant boards.

Good luck!

Do they have ADRs scheduled for that day? You can call Dining and mention that they will be celebrating a birthday. They will mark it on the ADR, and often they will greet the birthday girl with birthday wishes. Some restaurants offer birthday cakes which you can purchase ahead of time. The waiter will then serve it at dessert time.

Some resorts offer in-room dining. You can also check and see if you can have a birthday cake sent to the room. (There are pics posted on one of the threads - you can search for it).

Also, make sure her cousins get her a birthday pin from the park they are visiting. (It helps to get it the day before). She can wear the pin and EVERYONE she sees will wish her a Happy Birthday.

I have the solution!!!!

She is absolutely wonderful! She went out of her way to accommodate me for payment. PLUS she was able to make a few suggestions based on my price range, AND she even went out shopping to see if she can find something that I suggested (a tote bag rather than a give box/basket). She is a true gem. Her price is very fair. And I know my mum will be thrilled when she sees her gift waiting in her room after dinner on Saturday! Check her out, give her an email . she will work with you and for you to create something that will have a 'wow' factor for the girls all travelling, and it will be to what you want and what you can afford.

suggestions: mickey ears embroidered with each persons name, disney snacks, drinks, something a bit extra for the birthday girl (ie a beanie plush with a birthday theme? a gift card with $20 disney dollars for a dinner out on you? ) just afew suggestions.

Give her an email you won't regret it. AND the best part: absolutely NO SALES PRESSURE.

Have fun planning your surprise!
