Ways to pay

Okay, I'm a little confused on this subject, and was hoping some of you veterans could help me.
I need to know what items you can use Disney Dollars for and what items you can use cash for.
I was thinking that I had read somewhere that you could only use Disney Dollars in certain places. My main concern is can they be used on the ship to buy souveniers or to pay on a shipboard account?
As far as cash, I was thinking that I had read that cash was needed for anything that was bought in any of the ports. Is that correct, and does that include Castaway Cay? We're not planning on really buying anything in Nassau, except maybe eating at the Hard Rock, and maybe buying some shirts there, but I know we'll probably want some merchandise from Castaway Cay.

Disney Dollars can be used toward your onboard account. Just go to Guest Services and they will apply as many as you want. You use your KTTW card on Castaway Cay to purchase everything. It will show up on your shipboard account. Cash is for tips for room service on the ship and to purchase items in all ports except CC.

At guest services you can pay your account with...
Cash
Travelers CHecks
Credit Card
Debit Card

While onboard enjoying yourself you use your room key ... affectionatly known as the KTTW card (Key To The World). All of your purchases go onto this card. So while onboard, you can bring cash but you can't purchase anything directly with it. You can pass out cash for tips (but you can also use the KTTW card).

While off of the ship (except for at Castaway Cay) you will need to use a traditional form of money (cash, credit card, debit card) because the folks you will deal with are not a part of the Disney Company.

On Castaway Cay you will use the KTTW card for your purchases except for postage in the post office. Here you will need cash (55 cents for each stamp - please don't bring $20's to purchase one stamp - they traditionally don't have much change on hand.)
