Hi, I know this is way OT, but I despirately need help. My son who is in 7th grade, needs to come up with a science fair project. This needs to be completed before our disney trip next month _ april break. He needs to come up with an invention (something not already invented). He needs to actually build a prototype.

Any ideas. You are a smart board.

Thanks in advance.

Geez, I feel bad that nobody's responded to your post yet. I know how that feels.

I'm not the most invention-prone person in the world - that's DH's department. What about doing something with Disney in Mind? Like a shirt that can convert into a Mickey poncho for those lovely afternoon monsoons at AKL every day in June? :teeth:

I know - LAME. Hey, I tried, okay, people?

Ok, we have some thinking going on out there. Maybe I just have people thinking really hard. I tried asking my son questions that he can relate to. such if you could wish for something to help you.... what would it be. He collected football cards - does not have enough storage room; advid soccer playing - is there something that could help his game (here he thought of heaters for his soccer shoes - he wanted to take apart our heating pad and we did not think that would work :rotfl2: ).

Other problems in his life, his room is always messy. He is always loosing stuff in his room (it not very big). He even loses his homework. He forgets to brush his teeth. He forgets what clothes are clean or not. You would think he could come up with something imaginative to help him in his life.

Last year my other son, who likes video games invented a "gamer chair". He took an old recliner ($5 from a yard sale), added speakers, a fan, cup holder, remove control holder, magazine holder, and lots of other stuff. He was tied for second place for his invention.

I like your idea. Thinking about our upcoming trip - how can we make it relate. Actually, the more I think about your idea, I like it. Imagine wearing your disney t-shirt. The clouds come out fast. Turn your shirt inside out and the other side has slicker material, with a hood. He tends to be very creative. Maybe he can make an movie demonstrating this. However, we have had a lot rain in Maine.

People please keep those ideas happening.

My son just got home. He loved the idea about t-shirt with reverse poncho. With our many trips to disney, he could really relate to this idea. We have ponchos (of course) and t-shirts. He will have to learn sewing, but that is ok.

Remember this idea came from a diser - so if disney starts selling something similar soon - I will be your witness for rights for ownership and of course compensation. We need to pay for those trips somehow...... :hyper: :hyper:

Please keep those ideas coming.

Thanks a bunch.

I'm glad he came up with something. And, hey - is learning to sew such a bad thing for a man? It could win him points later on in life! (EEEEW...I'm sorry about that comment. I have an 11year old DS and I don't even want to THINKabout him and girls yet!)

From my experience with 2 sons, the "girl" thing starts in 7th grade, definately happens in 8th grade. What I have also noticed, the girls tend to start out as doing the chasing, then it reverses slightly each year. Sorry for those who have girls...... :confused3
