I'm looking for recommendations for the best waterproof and or sweatproof beauty products. I'm talking sunscreen, hair products, makeup, everything!

Since I get a great discount (I sell it LOL), Avon's wash-off, waterproof mascara works for me, along with their waterproof eyeliner. Buy it when it's on sale, quite inexpensive. I have a pool and use it every day without dealing with the dreaded "racoon-eyes". Most moisturizers have an SPF in them.

As for sunblock, I don't use it - don't flame me. I get checked by a dermatologist each year. For my family I use whatever brand-name product is cheapest in the discount stores. My dermatologist told me that any product over 15 is adequate as long as it's waterproof (read the directions for re-applying after swimming, etc.). Also, many products need to be applied 20 minutes before entering water or they won't work. Don't forget your scalp (i.e., part) can burn badly along with the bottoms of baby's feet.

As for hair products - forget about it. Florida is hot, humid and rainy. You're going fast on rides. Be prepared for bad hair days. Bring scrunchies, clips or hats if needed.

I just bought some waterproof mascara and eyeliner yesterday for my trip. :flower: Clinique makes this stuff you put on your face that makes it not get shiny the whole day, I like that- I think its called pore refiner or something. Also look for oil free face sunscreen.

I always plan on wearing my hair down b/c I think it looks better but then it ends up in a ponytail usually. I think i'm going to buy a Disney visor on my next trip to keep my hair back- they have some nice 50th Celebration ones out.

Maybelline has a good waterproof mascara too. The rest of my make-up just slides off in the heat, but my mascara is there through thick and thin!! Clean and Clear (johnson & johnson) has some good little wipe things that you can use to wipe that lovely shine (it cleans up excess oil too) that appears on your face in warm weather, it doesn't mess up your make-up either. I always used to have camera flash bouncing off my forehead, but no more!!!

For waterproof eyeshadow, I love MAC paints. They are fantastic at staying put (and no creasing!) I also love the MAC lipglass stains, which are discontinued, but they just came out with a limited set at Nordies. They stain your lips, and when the gloss is gone, the color is still there.

And yet another thing I do before a vacation is get my eyelashes tinted. I don't like mascara. Waterproof always ends up in the creases under my eyes, or flakes. It just doesn't work for me, but for $18 I can get the tinted for 3-5 weeks. I love it! No clumps or smears, just dark lashes

I like bullfrogs spray on sunscreen.

And revlon colorstay foundation does stay on through the sweat!

I'll have to remember to bring the shine blotting pads, nothing like your forehead being so shiny you blind everyone! :rotfl: I probably won't wear foundation (maybe to PI), because I'll have the sunscreen. I do wear eyeliner and mascara, so I'm interested in that. I guess I've resigned myself to just having bad hair days in Florida, so there's no help for that!
Keep the suggestions coming!

I like Lancome's teint idole foundation. It is not water-proof but it is long-lasting and I can wear it all day in the parks with only one touch-up before dinner. I've also found a great eyeshadow foundation (also by Lancome). I always used to think eyeshadow foundation was a waste of money but I swear by the stuff. My eyeshadow goes on much easier and stays fresh all day, no matter the heat or humidity. I wear full make-up at the parks and only bring along foundation and powder for touch-ups.

As for hairspray, Pantene extra-firm works well for me even in the humidity (and I have extremely fine, thin, straight hair). I avoid the water rides, though - I doubt there's anything would hold my hair through Splash Mountain!

ooh, as a makeupartist i love this thread! if you want coverage i suggest using a tinted mosturizer vs. a foundation as it's lighter and doesn't run as much in the heat. MAC(MAC's has spf) and Laura Mercier both have good ones. If you want to use a powder use something very light, I favor MAC blot powder. It never cakes but takes away unwanted shine. I generally just use an spf lip balm instead of any glosses or lipsticks. I like Lancome mascaras, Defencils waterproof is great. MAC powerpoint eyeliners stay put great and I never have a problem with them in the heat. If you want to wear eyeshadow I suggest using a primer first, it will keep the shadow on all day. I like Urban Decays Primer Potion, then use whatever eyeshadow shade you want. I also suggest using a mosturizer with spf, I like Avedas tourmaline charged daily lotion. Hope this helped.

Doublewear makeup by Estee Lauder stays on pretty good. Someone mentioned Lancome. It's great too. Covergirl waterproof mascara stays on as well. As for hairspray, when I go to Disney I don't bother. I pull my hair up and go. Otherwise it's too hot.

For sunscreen I love Coppertone Sport in SPF 48 (I'm very fair and will burn through anything lower). It seems to have the fewest ingredients of the sweatproof sunblocks out there and it's the only one that doesn't give me a rash. I also like Hawiian Tropic's spf 48 lipbalm--it has a yummy vanilla mint flavor.
