Hey all
We'll be at 'da World' in Dec. Is the weather in Dec doable for the waterparks?

Well first off weather aside- Blzzard beach is closed for refurb in Dec. That being said, you may have a nice day where you could head to Typhoon Lagoon. But I wouldn't make any major plans for it.

It can be very nice and warm for swimming in the afternoons.

But it could also be very cold (especially in the AM and as the sun sets).

You simply won't know until you're there.

Don't make any major plans on a waterpark, it can be cool in December. While the water is heated, it may be too cool to swim.

I am going in Nov. and I am skipping the H2O parks for these reasons:

My kids just like to swim. They don't care where the hotel pool is just fine to them

The weather is unpredictable. I am one of those folks that is always cold, so I only like to get wet if it's like 95 degrees or something. At least at the pool I can go back to the room and change

TL is closed for refurbishment.

If it is hot, and someones expresses a burining desire to go to BB, I will buy 1 day passes. It is waaay cheaper then adding the H2O park option.

Can someone confirm this for Christmas week 2006? DIS shows that only BB is closed...which is OK with me as I rather do TL anyway (More laid back)

TL lagoon will be open while BB is closed for refurb. My Best Friend works at TL and they close TL every year in January for about 2 months, and BB is open.
She also said the Dec weather is unpredictable. We have a few days that we can flex our schedule, so we'll decide when we get down there.

Enjoy

We also have the same plan, wait to decide until we are actually there. We usually go to WDW in October and it's pretty hot. The problem we always found was with one waterpark closed, the other was mobbed. Actually on our last trip, the day we planned to go to TL, the park was closed to capacity early in the morning.

We are also going in Dec. and am hoping to spend one day at TL. :beach:

We live in Iowa so it could be in the 70's and we will be happy but I have heard that it can get pretty chilly there. I told DH that the first nice day we are going. I love to swim so hopefully it will work out. :Pinkbounc
