Does the water taste as bad as everyone says?? :confused3 I know council pop varies in taste over here but a drop of squash works wonders :rotfl2:lol what products are in the us to use as I know they don't have squash as such and can we by them in the resort shop??. Thanks guys

We've never had a problem with the water, we buy one bottle each then refill it at the fountains throughout the day- just make sure the fountain is in the shade, the warm water does not taste good!!!

Yes i gave my twins the tap water with robinsons and then refilled at the parks, no problems at all

I agree,i was expecting some horrible tasting water but infact didn't have a problem with it at all..

as long as its ice cold its fine..but you can go to Walmart etc or the gas station at DTD and buy a load very cheaply. WDW sell Dasani, which is only tap water that has been purified and IMO you might just as well drink the fountain stuff..:)

I agree - the water from the water fountains is fine as long as it's cold. I find sometimes it smells a little strange, but just tastes like ordinary water to me :) on a hot day, it certainly does the job at least!

Also, remember that you can go up to a fountain beverage location in the parks and ask for a cup of iced water for free. It just comes out of the soda fountain, and is ice cold :)

ETA: people often buy Crystal Light sachets, or similar, to add to the water - it's a flavoured powder kind of thing, that dissolves in the water to give it a taste: http://www.kraftbrands.com/crystallight/Pages/default.aspx#/home

It depends on where you go.

Onsite, water tastes just fine (usually), but if you wander offsite you might realise that your drink tastes funny.

For example, some restaurants near crossroads (Cici's pizza is the one that pops up instantly) use tap water for their soda fountain, and even their iced tea. Even coke smells like ... I don't know what it smells and tastes like, the closest I can come up with is : sewers

Dasani also has a taste that needs some getting used to. I personnally don't like it at all.

Good point on MIO. I use the "market pantry" brand from Super Target. It's the same as MIO, only cheaper. It comes in small squishable bottles or powder. It's calory free, but needs to be added to ice cold water for the best taste.

I'm a water snob and think the water at home taste funny and just cant drink tap water in the parks, we always buy a large pack of bottle water, if we use magic express I get it delivered with garden grocer.
DH loves his squash and buy's it from Walmart at around £4 a go!!

It tastes like a cross between chlorine and sulphur!!! I find that Crystal Light helps a lot. You can buy it in all of the supermarkets over there, or on Amazon here if you don't plan on driving to any shops.

Get some sports powders to add to the water and help eliminate the taste, I bought Quosh sachets from Asda £1 for 6 and they do a one with caffeine and one without it great for keeping hydrated so you could give the caffeine free one to older kids , remember for small kids you can buy hydration drinks from the Disney child care centres in each park specially formulated for babies and younger children.

We've always stayed off site and bought bottles from Walmart, although when brushing our teeth we never noticed any smells,

I was once told you could buy single sachets of a powdered squash like from Walmart but the kids were happy with the water :) Also you can ask for cups of ice for FREE as well, they came in very handy in August

I took a water jug and filter last year and binned it when we left. I found my cups of tea tasted better and it saved having to keep buying water for drinking in the room.

I am obviously very fussy but I can't stand the smell of the water, let alone taste it. I am fine with it when it runs through the soda/coffee machines as the water from the dispensers is actually filtered. I fetch filtered water to clean my teeth with as the stuff out of the tap makes me gag  My daughter however, drinks it as is and says it tastes fine :rotfl: It won't make you sick - it just depends on your sensitivity of your sense of smell :)
