Water tasting funny? Is it just in the parks or surrounding areas?

I've seen a lot of posts on funny tasting water in the parks and how people will just bring in their own bottles of water to save on costs. I've also seen where some people will drink the park water if they have those bottle water flavor packets to add in the water.

But what about surrounding areas, such as Windsor Hills? Does the tap water there taste better than at the parks?

It is Florida. I was born and raised here and the water is terrible. I am somewhat used to it, and actually that water at the parks is better than where I live.

As PP said, it's the water in general. I think it's sulfur that makes it smell/taste funny. Someone told me once to refrigerate that water in an open pitcher. The sulfur will escape and the next day it will taste better. We tried this and it seemed to work.

The water tastes terrible in the Disney Resorts. Can barely stand to brush my teeth but have to use bottled water to rinse.

Even in the restaurants? I generally always have a glass of ice water with lemon to drink when we go to sit down meals. If not I will have to bring in my own lol. :rotfl:

I'm usually somewhat picky about water, but on our recent trip it's all I drank and I didn't notice anything funny tasting.

The water in that area of Florida has a very high mineral content - and sulfur is definitely in there. I know as soon as we arrive at MCO and walk through the security area on the land-side terminal and walk into the atrium area where the fountain is, I SMELL Florida! HAHA Sulfur is what adds the kind of rotten egg smell. And that is usually what people taste in water with high mineral content.

We've been there so many times that it doesn't bother me to drink it.

A lot of people especially DVC owners that use Owner's Locker keep Brita pitchers in their locker.

We find the water to be better in the parks and Disney resorts than outside of Disney property. We stayed in Windsor Hills for our spring break trip. We tried cooking pasta in the tap water and it was absolutely disgusting! :headache: I promptly went to the grocery to buy jugs of water to cook with!!
