Water proffing shoes idea

Just had a brain storm and thought it might help someone else. DD8 wanted hot pink converse sneakers. I agreed since they were cheaper then the twinkle toes that she wanted and i hate the lights on them.. anyways.. her feet would get wet because they are mesh so i decided to spray them with protectent and see how that would work. It WORKED!! So I thought this is a great idea for the parks seeing it always seems to have a florida monsoon when we are in them and I hate my feet wet. Thought this might help others especially little ones in strollers seeing there shoes are usualy exsposed even with rain covers on the strollers

Just remember this also means moisture will not get out either. I like the feet to be able to breath instead of being sweaty.

true this is the first week she is wearing them to school so we will see how it goes.

What product did you use? I always use a protective spray on my DD's cloth/canvas shoes and it never leaves them watertight.

Good idea! We wear Crocs so it's okay if our feet get wet but I have noticed that the less expensive umbrellas are not waterproof. I noticed this when using one during a rain storm and all of a sudden water was leaking through and dripping on my head. So now I spray both sides of my umbrellas and also my hats. I don't normally wear hats, except in WDW, so making them waterproof keeps my hair from getting soaked while wearing a hat in the rain or on Kali River. It works great!

Your post reminds me that I need to pick up a new can of water repellant spray. My old one stopped spraying last year.

I got it in Target in the shoe dept. it was like $8.00 for the can . Its a big blue can called Kiwi Camp Dry performance fabric protector. There were others one too but this was the biggest can and well I am cheap seeing they were all the same price I grabbed the biggest one
She came home yesterday after a bad rain storm and said Mom my feet stayed dry, but there sweaty UGHHH well she is going to have to deal with it I cant afford more shoes plus she is fashion diva and drives me nuts.

All my years of working for a shoe store in high school, I am crazy about waterproofing everything. My children do not wear shoes unless they are sprayed first. We use it too for our snowy seasons here. Heck I spray everything with that stuff.. bags, jackets.

I spray alot of stuff also but the biggest one is my Nikon Camera that DH got me for Christmas this past year so I sprayed the bag so my camera and lenses dont get wet. I swear the bag should have wheels on it as heavy as it is but at least it wont get wet TG .. wonder what other uses we can come up with ?
