How long do you usually spend at TL or BB? What do you do the rest of the day?

We get there at 9 with our cooler and stay until 1-2. We pack our lunch and drinks. After we go to the hotel and use the rest of the day for laundry and an early night to bed.

We usually to got TL or BB in the morning when they open cause it's not crowded at all. We generally stay around 4 hours and then go back to the hotel for a snack. We always have parkhoppers so we'll either go to MK for the night or to Epcot to walk around the World Showcase.

Water parks are usually our 'rest days'- like they exist in WDW :teeth: . Tend to go bout 10 and stay 3 hours until either we get too hot or it gets too crowded. Bear in mind that we've only really been in June so the heat and crowds arrive thick and fast. Then it's shopping time or off to the hotel/pool :moped:

I have always gotten there when they opened. I usually stay till lunchtime. If I am with teens than we stay a little longer. If I am with others that have seasonal passes like me than we rest for the afternoon and go to a park in the evening. Otherwise we have gone mini golfing in the evening before.

THANX everyone! Sounds like we could probably do a half day with a rest then maybe dinner and shopping later. I had a feeling we'd be literally washed up after a few hours in the sun and water. Don't think I'll try a park afterward. I can only take so much magic in one day! :rotfl2:

We will be going to TL and BB for the first time in April. We haven't bothered before since DH and I prefer to spend time elsewhere, but my family is coming along this time and I reckon the kids will love it.

Our plan is to have a lazy morning, brunch at SSR and then hit a waterpark early afternoon. This also means that DH can play golf those mornings without feeling like he's missing out. :)

Oh, BTW, thanx for the cooler tip. Didn't realize I could do this. Do you know if there are size restrictions? I assume it must be soft-sided. It will be nice to have our own H20 and energy drinks handy. :cool1:

Where is the best place to get water park tickets. They are not part of our multi day passes.

We have never taken the time to do a water park before. Which park do you recommend? We are a middle age young acting couple with old teenagers.

I was thinking that the TL would be fun because I thought the swimming with the sharks would be fun. DH swears that there is no way Disney lets you swim with sharks. I suspect he is correct. Does anyone know if there are glass walls that separate you from the wildlife?

We bring the biggest baddest cooler we can fit in the van. Last time it was a 4-wheel long handled cooler filled to the brim. They do a quck check to make sure there is no glass.

no separation between you and sharks. it is really cool. even though people think bb is the best due to the slides, we love the wave pool at tl.

I haven't been to either water park before, but we are going this summer in July and I plan to do both water parks the same day. The way I am planning we will have breakfast at our resort then head to BB, we'll stay there for about half the day (until around lunch time or after lunch), then we'll head over to TL and spend the rest of the afternoon there (until 5 maybe...depending on how much we can take). After that it's back to the hotel to change and go to dinner. Then spend the night at the hotel relaxing by the pool/hot tub or in the room.

I know it sounds so busy, but we've spent all day and night in MK before in the summer heat, I'm hoping the water parks can't be worse than that.

Seems like we do the opposite of the rest of you -

We arrive late - 5ish or so, swim for a while or until the thunderstorm of the day hits, then leave for dinner. Works for us.

We've always gone to TL. I'd love to try BB, but I'm afraid we'll be burnt to a crisp even with sunscreen since there doesn't seem to be nearly as much shade as TL. Thoughts?

i agree with the no shade at bb. there is plenty at tl.

I agree - I much preferred the theming of TL vs BB. I found BB to be a bit too full of concrete for my liking - TL was more tree-filled and beautiful.

just looked at the hours we will be there and it says 9-7 with extra magic hours -so doesn't that mean it opens at 8 or does it stay open later at night?

We are staying at DW for 11 days but only purchasing a 10 day ticket, so we pick a water park day where we do not go to any other parks. We arrive when the water park opens and usually stay until lunch. We head back to the hotel for a few hours of rest and relaxation. We usually schedule a TS at one of the hotels and then we like to play miniature golf at Disney. It is a more laid back day for us. We tend to do this in the middle of the vacation so that we have a break from running around the parks all day. We also end up turning in early that day and catching up on any "missed" sleep.
