Water Parks in Sept? Doable? or too cold?

Are the water parks open and doable in Sept or is it too cold then?

Disney keeps at least one of the Water Parks and the resort pools open all year long.
(Both are open in September, as generally the temperatures are still pretty warm.)

Even in winter months, if the day is sunny with the temperatures near 60 degrees or above with little or no wind,
guests can be found swimming at the resorts and water parks.

The water is heated in most pools.

No need to buy the WP tickets in advance, as you can add them ("Water Parks Fun and more") to your tickets after you arrive at no extra charge over buying them in advance.
(even on the day that you do decide to go swimming.)

You can wait to see if the weather suits you for swimming.

HERE are the average (and last year's) temperatures for the Orlando area.

HERE are the relative humidity averages for the Orlando area.

We've gone in Sept a few times and have always done the water parks. Still very HOT and STEAMY in September :)

September is still hot :) Very doable.

VERY hot. And humid. You'll love the water parks that time of year.

Lots of the country starts to get a break in summer heat in September. That really doesn't happen in FL until at least October.

Average high in Sept is 88F. Yep, it's hot enough. :)

We've been there in Sept the last three years and it's hot enough all day to swim, even late evening. We love hitting the pools after a full park day (if we have the energy left) :)

It is great time for it! We just addd a couple nights in Sept to go just for the waterparks! We're planning to drive to DC but figured a couple days of water parks at the start would be just the ticket!

Sept. is HOT!!! We've gone to the water parks in Dec. and Jan. on days it hit 70+ and sunny!

I love it when people think September will be cool because it is fall. It is still super hot and humid in Orlando in September, and the height of hurricane season.

No offense to you, OP, as I'm sure a lot of northerners associate September with nice, cool Fall weather, but as a south Louisiana girl, seeing "September" matched with "too cold" made me giggle! :rotfl: You will be just fine, as others have said, September will still be plenty hot and humid in Disney World. In fact, you will probably be thinking of the water parks as a welcome relief! :goodvibes

Yep ;)

We have been to WDW a few times at the end of Sept and in October and while it has been cool weather, really nice park weather, swimming was not a problem. Last trip we arrived at the end of September and we went to the water parks on a couple of days. The rivers were a bit cold but the only real problem we had was taking the kids to a surprise surf lesson at Typhoon Lagoon. We had to be there before sunrise and the water was just too chilly for them in the morning. Eventually they borrowed some wetsuits which helped a bit.

Once it heated up later in the morning, after people were let into the park, the kids were fine in the water.

Later,
Dan

September is very doable for the WPs. We've been twice in September and have always had warm weather.

I would say it's DEFINITELY do able, the weather is usually super hot and humid straight through into Sept, I wouldn't be worried about it being cold. But as pps said, you can add it when youre down there!

In Florida we have...Kinda Winter, Early Summer, Summer, and Late Summer...

So yea the Water Parks are Doable....Christmas Day this past year was in the mid 70's

The word cool doesn't pop up in any conversation in Florida until mid to late October.September highs will be lower than August highs since August highs are in the 90-95 range,so September highs will likely be in the 88-92 range with tons of humidity.
