water parks and scooters questions

Hi,

I have questions about Disney water parks and scooters.

My last trip to a major large water park was about 12 years and it didn't turn out well. We had been there a couple of hours and after climbing about half up one water ride my back seized up and I couldn't climb up or down the steps. My husband and I had to stand there squeezed up to one side of the steps (letting other people pass us) for over an hour until the pain in my back eased up a bit so I could climb down again.

Since then I have had x-rays, MRIs, about 4 surgeries, physical therapy and swim laps daily in my own pool. But I still have to use my own scooter to get around sometimes. I can do short 30 minutes walks OK, but not longer ones. So I tend to use the scooter as a way to "save" my energy for those times when one just can't use a scooter.

We've been to the regular Disney Parks with the scooter and had good results. We've even done a small local water park without the scooter and it was OK, but it being small it didn't have the walking area of a Disney park. The actual water rides I enjoyed most was the wave pool and the river ride.

This August we would like to try to one of the Disney water parks (not sure which one yet). We have never been to any Disney water park before.

* So I want to know how are people on scooters in the larger water park treated?

* Yes, I know I would have to get out of it to climb the steps to water rides, but can I ride the scooter in line up to the foot of the steps? I will have my husband there to help me.

* I expect the park workers to be kind, but are park goers going be unpleasant to me? I have several unpleasant things happen to me in the scooter while attending some events and conventions.

Thanks. :)

Although I work at TL (gate area), I don't do water parks. However we do have several people per day entering using ECVs. Just don't drive on the beach with one. We do not rent ECVs at the water parks, but we do have a very limited number of loaner wheelchairs.
