Water Park or Disney Quest?

We have park tickets that include one complimentary visit to either Disney Quest, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. Which would you choose? It will be just myself and DS4. We have never been to any of these destinations so I'm not sure what to do.

Thanks!

There's not much at Disney Quest for a 4 year old. I would pick one of the waterparks.

your 4 years old will be too short to enjoy most of the arcade games at DQ (not touching pedals at driving games for example) and will also not meet height restrictions for some games, so I'd skip DQ until he's older

Typhoon Lagoon vs. Blizzard Beach is an endless debate.

I personally enjoy TL better and so does my 7yrs old, but there also is a very nice kid play area at BB.

Blizzard Beach. The three main ingredients that make TL fun (wave pool, shark reef, and Crushin Gusher) are all meant for bigger people than your 4-year-old.

If he loves water I would definitely pick the water parks. as for which one well that's a hard choice as we love them both but my now 12 year old son still says he likes blizzard beach a little more then Typhoon Laggon. Cool water areas for younger children. Good luck picking.

The typhoon lagoon kid area was partially shut down and looked to be undergoing repairs when we were there two weeks ago. My kids preferred blizzard beach anyway including our three year old.

Disney quest is embarrassing. It should be shut down entirely.

I vote for Blizzard Beach. It seems to be more young kid friendly than Typhoon Lagoon. The big attraction at Typhoon Lagoon is the wave pool, which he might be too young for. There would be much more he could do at Blizzard Beach.

I agree to just skip Disney Quest altogether. Nothing much there for him and it is in Desperate need of an overhaul anyway.

I have three kids age 16, 14, and 3. Of the three, only the 16yo likes DQ. I think it is an ok distraction, but if given the choice my family would choose the WP over DQ.

We went to DisneyQuest for the first time last summer and hated it. Complete waste of time and money.

DF and I really enjoy Disney Quest. We can spend hours in there! However, for a 4 year old, I'm not sure how much he would really be able to do. I haven't been to any of the Disney water parks yet, we're going for our first time this year, but from all the research I've done I'd definitely say that's the way to go in your case!

We skipped Disney Quest on our last trip since the time before we weren't too impressed with it. I'd definitely go with one of the water parks. They are both a lot of fun! :)

Thank you all! I guess we will try a water park. Sounds like Blizzard Beach is what we will do! We have been to Disney five times and never done a water park before. We usually visit in November/December. Is it more of a half-day type of thing? Is it better to go in the morning or afternoon?

It's best to get there first thing right when they open...grab a few chairs...then ride the slides until the lines get long. Then hop in the lazy river, pools, kids play areas until you're done for the day. I usually end up staying for about 4-5 hours.

We usually visit in November/December.

In that case, watch the refurb schedule. They close one each year during the colder part of the year, so your choice *might* be taken away.

Are you sure you only have *one* WP&M admission on your tickets?

We love the WPs and we love DQ :)

Blizzard Beach is awesome for 4yrs :) We like to go at open because lines get long fast. But since you are likely dealing with a lot of height restrictions, Afternoons should be just fine.

Have fun!

4 years old is too young for DQ, but I am sticking up for Disney Quest here. There is a lot of fun things to do there, Cyber Space Mountain is 100 times better than sum of all thrills. The Pirates ride is great as are the bumper cars and air hockey. Then the games and pinball are included with your admission. Maybe some people don't let their kids go to the arcades in the resorts, but my son always wanted to and we would spend a bunch that way, so the price isn't unreasonable. I will say, it would be nice to see some upgrades, so much better VR stuff is out there. The make a song booths are a waste of time and space but the drawing class is neat. We have a PAP, so maybe I would feel differently if I paid full price for a day to go there, but I have had a blast in there almost every time.

I vote for TL..... hands down! and I have no plans to go anywhere near DTD with all the construction in that area

I agree - It's great if your kids like arcades. my son is obsessed with arcades so DQ was a big hit for us. One trip, even after 2 full days at DQ, he still had to drop $20 at the resort arcade *sigh*. Thankfully, my DH and I like arcades too. I have my one favorite game that I would happily spend an hour or so playing :) Compared to what we could drop at a normal arcade, DQ is a crazy bargain. We usually spend at least half to an entire day there. My DD isn't as big into video games but she likes watching and she can still find plenty of games to amuse herself. 3 yrs ago, she spent a ton of time in the animation thing but when we were there Christmas week, she said the machines weren't working very well so she only did one class. She does mess around with the make a song thing although we never buy it. She just records it on the iPhone :) While we like Sum of All Thrills better, both kids like the Cyber Space Mountain. We skip most of the VR stuff because we find the helmets too bulky and unwieldy, but we love, love LOVE the Pirates game. I could do that one over, and over, and over - but lines are usually so long we typically manage it only once.

By we usually visit in November, I meant before this trip we have visited in November/December. This trip will be September.

I'm sure I have just one admission. It's a special deal we got. Included with our tickets is a one-day pass to either TL, BB or DQ.
