Water park or Aquatica experts?

I've read that at Blizzard Beach you can use the floats in the wave pool. This sounds like a lot of fun. Can you do this in Aquatica? That is a new and different type of thing I've not seen before. Also, there are animal showings there. Can anyone talk about what animals are shown? Sounds like a really neat park.
Any tips for Aquatica or Blizzard Beach for us. Group of 6 youngest 5 oldest 48. We'll split up so I'm looking for fun to have together with my 10 year old son.

There is only one place in Aquatica where you can use floats and that is Loggerhead Lane, these floats are used for Tassie's Twisters so especially early in the day it can be difficult to find an empty one.

They have Commerson's Dolphins on display all the time and there was someone around the viewing area that knew about the animals and you could ask questions and I've also seen some birds on display. I know at other SW/BG parks they've brought out sloths and lemurs to pet in the mornings, but I haven't ever been at Aquatica early enough to see if they do that.

My 9 year old nephew loves Aquatica, his favorite is Roa's Rapids, it's a fast moving river, we enjoy having races through it. I unfortunately haven't made it to Blizzard Beach but I'm sure it would be just as much fun. I don't think you can ever go wrong with a water park!

Hope this was helpful and that you have a wonderful time!

Roa's is awesome.

If you're looking at having some buddy time with your kid, Aquatica is the way to go. Disney parks are very very strict about who's allowed in the kid area. So you'd be doing a lot of pool-side lounging. At Aquatica, no area is off limits to adults. So if you want to act like a 10 year old and go down the kiddie slides, go for it.

A lot of the parents love standing in Walkabout Waters and letting the buckets dump on them. And it's fun to play in too, especially if you find an empty bucket to dump or a hose to spray.

The only upside to BB, is the bigger faster slides, and a much longer lazy river. But there's plenty of water and sun to go around at both the parks. But expect there to be lines early in the day at either park.
