We plan on arriving at our hotel around 11am. Not sure if it'll be a lot for my 2 year old. I know there is no direct bus to get there and we have to transfer but I think she would enjoy it! Will you be taking advantage of this perk?

Yep. Taking an early flight especially to take advantage.

ETA there’s a special area for parents to interact with little ones at both parks but don’t know which one will be open.

I never realized this was a perk! We will definitely consider using it in the future, my kids would love the water parks, but we have always been while they are closed

No, I'd rather use the resort pool. The water parks are people soup and it can be hard to find lounge type chairs if you aren't there within the first 30 minutes of opening (even in the slowest month on a weekday). I went to Typhoon Lagoon this past September after not going in years, now I remember why.

Maybe it depends on the time of the year you are there?
Never had a problem getting a lounge chair at either park.

As someone noted above, it’s a new perk this year. However I wanted to mention that unless it is bad or cold weather, there should always be one of the water parks open.

Yep, I've got a split stay so will use the two free water park days.
We never have an issue with loungers or chairs, and a few times we have gotten the cabanas.

One of my sons is considering it for our trip in April if the kids are not exhausted from our early flight. Have not been since my kids were little. He is looking to kill an hour or two if our room is not ready. I might decide to go with them.

We have a stay post cruise, and figure since we're off the boat so early, we might as well try it. Even if we're only there a couple hours, it's included in the cost of the stay so I don't feel like I've *lost* anything.

We did get chairs, but they were the short small chairs that basically sit on the ground and were within literally 6 inches of other people. And not in a "prime" location. There were not any lounge chairs left. This was a weekday in September, weather was good, so maybe that played into it, it was the slowest week of the year according to TP. And we were there 40 minutes after opening. We floated around the lazy river a few times then left and went back to the pool at the WL. I've come to the conclusion that water parks are just not for me. I do think it is a nice benefit, though. There are other things I'd prefer to see Disney bring back, but I know it's not going to happen!

This might be the dumbest question.. but heading to the Poly with family next week. They just have regular tickets I purchased that are showing on my app and don't have MagicBands.

Do we need to check-in to the hotel first and get them room keys for them to scan in to the water park on arrival day?

I think as long as they are on the hotel reservation (the free water park day is for guests registered in a room at a Disney hotel, park tickets don't matter) and in your MDE app, you could show that.

Still torn between whether or not we will take advantage of this option but it certainly is a nice perk that was added if you arrive early enough!
