Water Park Crowd Calendar??

I was wondering if there is a site which gives crowd predictions for the water parks. I did look at Touring Plans but from what I can see the predictions are only 3 days out.

We had planned to visit one of the water parks on July 4 to avoid the craziness in the parks. Is this a good plan or will the water parks be just as busy as the regular parks? From what I understand MK could reach capacity on July 4, would there be high crowds like this at the water parks.

Thanks,

I've never seen a crowd calendar for the water parks.

The water parks will be just as crazy as the parks.

MK hasn't reached capacity in nearly a decade. It's not going to happen this year.

If you are concerned about getting chairs, arrive before opening or reserve a cabana. I've heard that if you arrive late in the day (around 2pm) crowds thin out then.

The water parks do not get crazy crowded, even on the 4th of July. They do draw somewhat of a crowd, but nothing like the 4 theme parks. We love the water parks and go often. Even on 4th of July, we've never had a problem finding chairs, ever. You may have to walk toward the "back" of the park, but there is always space available. Since they have no FP+ (at least not yet, they were testing it last summer), lines for the big slides can get long midday. Best way to get on the big things is to show up at park open. In summer, they usually open at 10am. Showing up at 9:55 is more than sufficient. Grab a chair and head straight for the big slides. You can ride them back to back to back without a line for about a 45-60 minutes. Only limit is how quickly you can climb the stairs (don't use the ski lift at BB, it's very slow and stops a ton). Then the lines for the big stuff get long from about 11am to 4pm. They'll thin out as the day wears on and from about 5pm to close...usually 7pm...it's pretty empty. Or if there's a midday t-storm, go then...it clears a lot of the people out.

Thanks for all the info! I didn't even think of renting a cabana.

If you decide to rent a cabana, do some research on where they are located and ask plenty of questions. We've done them at both parks, and while it works for our particular style, my personal opinion is that the cost/value for what you get is a bit out of whack for these. I'm not against water park cabanas but I think folks might be well-served to study up on them in advance. Happy to help if needed!
