I knew I was forgetting to check on something...until just now. I thought I had read someplace that at some CS's you could get a Btl of Water instead of a dessert...on the DDP. Is that true? My DH is not a big 'sweets' person, and water would come in handy I'm sure. Any recent reports on this?

TIA

Not about water but lasy yr at Clumbia harbor house I asked if I could have chips instead of dessets and was told no.Even though the chips were cheaper than the desserts. I would just ask and see the reply. You also can get water for your drink instaed of pop.

I would not plan on getting a bottled drink (water or other) in place of anything. As mention by PP you can order it as your beverage at a CS, but otherwise plan to use a snack credit. Many places offer fresh fruit cups with kids meals, perhaps you could get one of those as dessert.

I have heard that some CS places will give you a voucher for dessert, so you can get it later. In that case I would see the dessert subbing for a snack(can you say Mickey bar), and happily use a snack credit for some much needed water at WDW.

In any event I hope you get full and stay hydrated at WDW!

We're getting water delivered to our room via wego, so no worries about getting dehydrated in that hot FL sun. Of course I only drink 1 soda a day, ussually order water with every meal. I was just curious if DH was going to 'waste' the dessert portion of his CS credit.....looking over the menus early on when deciding on the DDP, I knew this was a pssibility...so it's not a real concern, but thought it would be nice if it was a possibility. I appreciate everyone's quick responses. thanks!

This may sound odd, but we often look for a family to give our desserts to while we are walking away from the counter. Many of the desserts are sealed and since we have obviously just paid, we've never had a family hesitate. We just say, "This came with our dining plan and we can't eat all of this food." Families with teenagers especially love it!

We're back, and just wanted to let you know we only asked once if we could have something other than the 'sweet dessert'.....asked about a fresh fruit option, and was told "NO! Fruit is only an option on the childrens plan."...my DH doesn't like too much attention, and since my DS9 was on the childs plan (not too many dessert options for him), we took turns letting him pick our dessert to share....it worked out good.

I think it really depends on who checks you out. When we were there in December (at Columbia Harbor House, no less :) ), I did not want dessert and the girl checking us out offered french fries or "something else" instead. I bet I could have gotten the water if I wanted.

I think it is pretty much all in who you get. I was allowed to change some things this year, but at Flame Tree I wanted the corn muffin which was $1.50 less than the dessert & she wouldn't do it. She did offer for me to use a snack credit for it. No thanks. Gave her the $2.30 & saved my snack credit for a $4.00 cheese stuffed pretzel!!

In April at Backlot Express in MGM, we got 3 bottled waters instead of desserts, it being a hot day and us non-dessert eaters already having more than enough all week. They asked what we wanted for dessert and I just said we really didn't want it, could we get some waters instead and was told sure with no hesitation.
