This may have already been answered before, but as a newbie  I haven't seen it yet. Can water bottles-like the kind you buy empty at Wal-Mart and fill yourself-be taken into the parks? Or, do they have to be unopened prefilled ones? My DD thinks only new unopened ones are allowed.

:woohoo: May 7th here we come!

You can bring your own water bottles into the park- opened or not. They don't have restrictions on this.

We brought our own with no issues at all.

I have seen it suggested to bring the Brita Filter type water bottles, we just used the Crystal Light drink packs as the FL water was kinda yucky.

We brought our own water bottles in every day. Wal-Mart sells nice water bottle holders with shoulder straps, which made the bottles easy to carry.

If you plan to refill the water bottles throughout the day, we found the taste of the local water to be nasty. You might want to buy those little tea or Crystal Light packs that are made to be mixed with water bottles.

You can bring in all the outside food and drink you want. The only restrictions are as follows:

1) no glass (exception is baby food jars).

2) no "hard-sided" or rolling coolers.

Whatever other foodstuffs you have, whether open or unopened, new or used, store-bought or home-made, tasty or came from my mother-in-law's kitchen, you can bring 'em all. Period. No doubt on this one.

Better than refilling from a water fountain: ask any counterservice restaurant for a cup of ice water. It tastes so much better than the stuff from the fountains! I don't know if Disney does something different to the water that is served in the restaurants but I noticed that it isn't as nasty as the water fountain water.

You can bring in any food/beverage item (other than alcohol). We took water every day (and did the dining plan and it includes soda, water or powerade). We saw ice chests full of food, drinks, etc. We saw Rubbermaid type bottles, sports bottles, bottles from other theme parks, etc. They really are NOT picky at all. Have fun!

DD might be confused with the airport. If you bring an opened water bottle through the security line, they make you drink from it. At least, that's been my experience in the past.
