I am sitting in a 2 bedroom watching the rain....but we are in Disney! Flew in on Friday, late afternoon. Stayed the first night at AllStar Movies-I have become a resort snob as ASM was just "okay" and OKW is wonderful. Anyhow, we are happily in a 2 bedroom in building 18. We had a great first full day on Saturday which included 6 hours at Typhoon Lagoon, dinner at House of Blues, and an evening at Downtown Disney. Yesterday we went to Animal Kingdom in the AM, (road Everest twice with the help of a "Disney moment by a CM"), then MGM in the afternoon and evening. We did the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melrose with the 9 pm show and really got lucky with the weather. Today, we are changing our plans because of the tropical storm. We are resort hopping instead, shopping at DD, and possibly taking in a movie.

Tentative plans are Tuesday and Wednesday park hopping, Thursday Blizzard Beach, and flying home Friday.

I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Sitting on one of thoe OKW balconies watching the rain sounds so nice to me. A mug of tea and a good book. Ahh!

Have fun resort hopping and I hope the weather clears soon for you. I just saw that there are now hurricane warnings for the coast not actually upgraded yet though.

Have a great and safe trip!

which building are you in? do you like your view?

I think I would be taking a nap..... :happytv:

we are in building 18. Yes, the view is fine looking over the foliage. If I lean and look left, I can see a pond, looking right I can see the quiet pool.

Is the rain helping with the fires have you heard anything .

We are coming down in 13 days.

I was at DL with the fires close and we had ASH everywhere.

TIA and have a wonderful time.

Hopefully the rain will pass quickly and you can get back to your vacation in full swing. I know Florida, in general, needs the rain; hopefully you don't miss out too much and Florida gets what it needs too.

We were at VWL just last week, and the fires in FL weren't threatening the Orlando area. Primarily, they were located further toward the east along the Beeline and near I-95--those corridors have been routinely shut down as the firefighters battled blazes nearby. That being said, there were a couple of days when we caught whiffs of burned vegetation from long-since extinguished fires, but no smoke or other indications at all. You should be fine, especially if FL gets the rain as they're hoping to.

Hi Karen ! Hope that storm doesn't dominate too much of your disney time, but your plans for today sound great. I love resort hopping. We'll be at OKW in a 2 bed this August. I've never been in bldg 18----sounds nice. During our stay in 2004, we hung out pretty much all the time at that pool by you because the main pool was closed due to slide construction. It's a very nice, quiet area. Enjoy your stay and try and keep dry today !

SOunds like a nice relaxing trip! Hope the weather clears for you soon.
