Watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation for the first time this morning.

The National Lampoon Vacation franchise is wildly inconsistent, but they all have some unforgettable moments. On the off chance you've haven't seen the original movie, it's a must, and Disney fans will especially enjoy it.

I've seen all of them tons of times, but I never fail to pick up on something new each time! Love all of them!!

I've mentioned in other threads, but I've had two notable similar Griswold experiences....traveling to a theme park in the late 70s (or early 80s) with my parents that didn't end so well (not giving spoiler lol) and visiting the Grand Canyon...yep, big hole let's go...

I couldn't sleep, so I put it on. It was hilarious! The ending especially was funny.

I love American Christmas films where they have all the multi coloured lights on their houses, it's so pretty.

Then, you have to watch the ones leading up to it. Or better yet. Binge John Hughes' movies. They're great.

Our daughter and son in law live on a street known for its Christmas light displays. All December long we call our son in law Clark, and spout quotes from this movie at him. "Don't throw me down, Clark" "I'll try not to, Aunt Bethany"

We’re going to have the hap-hap- happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny .... Kaye.

This is one of our favorite movies of all time. There are so many hysterical moments & quotes. I could watch it constantly. :thumbsup2
I can't think of one single person I know now that hasn't already seen it but for about a decade we'd find new people to share it with every Christmas. I'd make them a bet that I'd pay them $1,000 cash if they could sit through the entire thing without laughing. I would have done it too...but of course nobody even came close to winning. :rotfl:

Christmas Vacation is one of my very favorites. DH and I have been watching Christmas movies every evening for the last couple weeks and Christmas Vacation was one of the first we watched.

We watched it the day after Thanksgiving! Due to her hearing loss and refusal to get hearing aids, my MIL has turned into Aunt Edna. All day long..."Eh?" "What?" And we all end up shouting at her. :rotfl:

Correction...Aunt Bethany.

I am so old... I remember that my parents took my high school boyfriend and me to see this at the cinema when it came out back in 1989 :rotfl2:
