Day 9: Stop the ride, I wanna get off !!!!

Well my day began when I woke about 6am due to the room spinning!!! I thought for a minute that I had woken up on the Teacups! :lmao: I scrambled about and found some Nurofen and a bottle of water, I returned to bed and woke again about 10.30am, thankfully feeling much better second time around! Phew!!! I had a bit of a headache but had taken a couple of Tylenol before bed the night before so it shifted pretty quickly..

Karen was already awake, so I went into the lounge and we lazed about in our pj's chatting and drinking tea and coffee whilst piecing together last nights events, then we packed the majority of our stuff as we would be leaving tomorrow. Whilst packing we watched the Serbia V Ghana match. After the game we were starting to feel hungry and had previously discussed trying Friendly's so we jumped in the Beast and off we went. We quickly located one on I-Drive. We both ordered burgers and the homemade sundae's, I had a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, then one scoop of Nuts about Caramel ice cream & one scoop of Hunka Chunka Peanut Butter Fudge ice cream, topped with hot fudge sauce, cream, chopped walnuts & a cherry - OMG SO YUMMY!!! Karen had similar but I can't recall what???? Kaz feel free to chip in here ;) I had the Swiss 'n' Mushroom burger (without bacon) and fries, followed by a 2 scoop sundae of Chocolate Almond Chip & Hunka Chunka PB Fudge with Pineapple topping... It was fab and very reasonable at $35 including tip. It was 100% yummy and I Karentee I'll be returning here... :thumbsup2 Me too, it was fab!

Suitably stuffed, we jumped back in the Beast & headed to the Florida Mall of course, where else??!!!! In fairness we would have gone anywhere with air conditioning today!!! It was SO hot, the temperature in the car read 104!!! :faint: OMG it was like breathing fire, the air was sooo hot!!! I parked up by Macy's and lo & behold as we walked in the door to cut through to the mall, we were thrown straight into the middle of a shoe sale!!!! :woohoo: My idea of heaven!!!! :cloud9: No arguments from me!!! I made an immediate beeline for a gorgeous pair of sandals that leapt out at me, it was love at first sight  .....but they didn't seem to have my size so I went up to the desk to ask, she radio'd a message out back for them to check, meanwhile I said a little prayer & crossed my fingers, toes, eyes etc.... After what seemed like forever someone appeared clutching a pair in my size! :worship: :woohoo: Anyway as you can tell I was very pleased. :yay: Karen had also taken a shine to them and luckily the one's on display were her size, and not only that but on top of the sale price it was also buy one get one half price - so we did a little funky dance & bought them both. Bargain! They are indeed gorgeous and very comfy - I love them... We must just never wear them at the same time - that would look super sad!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Yes I know!!! :lmao:

Here are said gorgeous-ness of sandals, (they look much nicer on than in the pic)......

We also shopped in CVS (what can I say, I needed my drugs!!! :teeth:) and had we had one last look in Sephora where we bought lots more goodies. :yay: Well, it would have been rude not to methinks and I had a few requests from Sophie...;) Once we had finished we drove back to BLT about 7pm, I took a few pics of the BLT lobby.

When we got back to the room we quickly freshened up and then walked across the road to Magic Kingdom, where we headed straight into Emporium & made a few last minute purchases, I bought a Minnie T-shirt & a few pins. Karen bought a lovely necklace... I bought a little gold Mickey head pendant from possibly the campest young cast member on property - he was very sweet. I remember that he and a colleague were very keen to roll their eyes about a less than pleasant senior member of staff which struck me as rather amusing for us but not quite Disney IYKWIM... Oh yes, I'd forgotten about him, he was very funny.

We remained in the safety of the air conditioned store for as long as possible as despite being almost 8pm it was still VERY hot & humid. However, we had a mission and had to get outside to view the parade!!!

Continued below....

With a few minutes to spare we took a place just outside Emporium to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade. (Let me apologise in advance, the photos aren't very good as I took them on my little point n shoot camera which is not ideal for a light parade....) I think they're great, hun!!!

Oops apologises for the photo overload. I was very excited to see this parade. It was a real nostalgia trip for me as I remember seeing it on our first visit back in 1992... This was so much better!!!

After the parade we decided that the only way we could possibly round off our fabulous girlie trip was by watching Summer Nightastic from the Top of the World lounge one last time. :cloud9: So that is exactly what we did, we began with a Kir Royale each, Karen stuck with the Kir Royales whilst I switched to various flavours of Mojitos. After the fireworks we decided to grab a bite to eat, I ordered a Bay Lake Tower (BLT = Bacon, lettuce & tomato - get it? ) Flatbread....

Karen had Lump Crab Nachos....

I was starving as we hadn't had anything since Friendly's earlier that day!!! Those nachos were delicious - next time I'm trying the dessert selection too...

We were both very impressed with our food, and eventually we bid farewell to the lounge and headed off to bed..... A sad moment but I'm so glad we went there on our last night - it seemed really fitting. I loved the TOTW lounge and can't wait to introduce members of my family to it's delights on future trips...

Day 10......Coming soon, our last morning & journey home. Expect tears...

Most definately!!! It was so hard to breathe on a few occasions....hence the amount of time we spent in bars drinking & the malls. ;)
