Day 7: Feelin' Hot, Hot, HOT!!!!!!

We had a very lazy morning, drinking lots of coffee ;) and doing some laundry, I also started the mammoth task of packing some of my shopping. I easily filled one suitcase & thankfully it weighed 32.5kg! :woohoo: I am sure i'll get away with being 0.5kg over. :wizard: We also watched the opening games of the World Cup. Oh and I packed my first case of goodies with ease and no danger of going over the threshold.. But then, I am an angel...

Eventually we took the bus to Hollywood Studios:

Could we have been any further away...?
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: I know, I did tell the woman how to zoom in but she obviously couldn't figure it out!

We had some Photopass pics taken on the way in:

It was absolutely boiling hot today and the park was packed, we walked over to the special Star Wars Weekend merchandise shops where we purchased a few things, T Shirt, Key rings, pins etc - most were gifts as neither Karen or I are huge Star Wars fans. We then spent some time running (I kid you not) from shop to shop, it was SO flipping hot, that we had to remain in the safety of the air con buildings! It was STEAMING!!! And I was pretty unimpressed to discover all the AP/DVC pins had long gone... :sad2:

We bumped into a Stormtrooper along the way....

It was soon approaching our ADR time, so we made our way to Mama Melrose:

We were told to wait to be seated and boy did we wait......45 minutes later  we were shown to our booth. OMG!!! I'd completely forgotten how long we waited!!! It was nuts!!! We were gasping for a drink so ordered some water whilst we viewed the cocktail list, Karen literally hit the bottle. I was beyond thirsty!!! ::yes::

We settled for two Bellini's, which didn't last long so we ordered a few more.
And very delicious they were too!!! In fact, I could really go for one right now... :teeth:

Bellini Cocktail - combination of Sparkling wine, White Peach, and raspberry:

To start Kaz went for Mozzarella and Tomatoes - with marinated sweet onions, balsamic drizzle, extra virgin olive oil and fresh sweet basil....

P1080155.jpg

I went for Caesar Salad - with crisp romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing and crostini....

For Main, Karen chose a Tuna Steak served on a vegetable risotto... I don't eat rice, tho' it looked/smelt yummy and the tuna was wonderfully cooked!!! Probably the nicest I've had in a while... :cloud9:

Continued below.....

My choice was Penne Alla Vodka - with pancetta and sweet onion, finished with tomato basil sauce, cream, vodka and pecorino romano... A brave choice for Picky Ms Pinky but you enjoyed it, didn't you hun??? It looked very good...
It was delish, I would definately have it again. :thumbsup2:

We both chose the same dessert, Chocolate Amaretti Cheescake:

That was VERY good...

It was my first time dining here and other than the wait when we arrived I really enjoyed, it is a nice relaxing restaurant, I will definately be returning here. ::yes:: And it was great value if I remember correctly...? Yes it was...I can't remember how much though! :lmao:

Once we had paid up we walked over to the Star Wars area but it was jam packed :crowded: You literally had to fight your way through the crowd, we looked at each other and mutually decided without saying a word to get the heck out of there! It was horrific and not for me...

On the way towards the park exit we popped into our new favourite place... Woohoo!!!!!!!!!

...where we had a couple of cocktails each, although unfortunately no Dishy Dave to serve us today. I don't know why you're laughing, I was sobbing into my Picnic Punch…

We decided to hit the shops before exiting the park and getting the bus back to BLT, we dropped our shopping off in the room and freshened up. We then went up to the Top of the World Lounge, where we had several Kir Royales whilst waiting for the Summer Nightastic Fireworks. Mmmm, several Kir Royales - that also sounds good right now!!!

The barman saw me taking photos and told me to wait whilst he lowered the Monorail blind behind the bar.

After the fireworks we headed off to bed fairly tipsy.....
