Wasting away again in Loserville-(all welcome to grab an adult beverage and come in)

Hi losers! :wave2:

Everything is fine. Thanks for the support, friends. :grouphug:

Dorky, glad to see you back. I hope we'll get to see lots of great Hawaii pictures.

Mkrop, sorry to hear about the kiddo being sick. Asthma sucks. My 3 year old had a flare up the other day and was coughing herself silly. The ped gave us a fantastic cough syrup that works like magic combined with nebulizer treatments. I'll look up the name of it for you.

Hey--just dropping in again to sya hi. I am working on my, I mean DS's:rolleyes1 , Hall of Presidents speech. He is FDR. They set up the media center to be like a wax museum Hall of Presidents and the kids all have posters with a 'button' on them. When someone presses te button, they have to give their 2-3 minute speech (no notes). It is like pulling teeth to get him to work on this! THe speech its written and I am supposed to type it. Would it be wrong to 'edit' as I do??

HOLD THE PHONE!!!!!!! My project isnt due until NEXT friday!!!!!!! I am soooooooo happy right now! woo hoooo!!!!!!!!

(and if anyone knows anything about annotated bibliography's, I would really love some help!)

My DS10 had to this kind of thing last year. It was a "Wax Museum" . It was the entire 3rd grade, they had to pick a famous (dead) person, reasearch, make a triptiche(sp) and a short speech in first person. They had to wear a costume, and after school they had their presentation where they all stood in their rooms wearing their costume next to their desk with the triptiche. and they had a button, too, so when ever someone walked by and pushed the button, they recited their speech. I was not excited about it at first, but it ended up being really cool. The kids did a GREAT job. (I did my share of editing on his speech, too!)

MLA or APA? That's what my DD is doing in English this year. I can ask her any questions.

This is really cool and all the kids in school go thru. My DD did it too. The parents also get invitations. He has to dress the part and it mostexcited because FDR was in a wheelchair and he gets to sit the whole time!:rotfl2: He truly is my son! I only added a few things, just told what Polio was, and what a cerebral hemorrhage was and that was about it. He did pretty good for 10pm writing of the speech!

Afternoon Losers.

I went to the doctor today... but, then again, aren't I always?

This was for me. My yearly squoosh and scrape at the GYN. He asked how things were going and I did that sorta hysterical giggle and told him I was dealing with a bunch of stuff, but that's life. He asked me to expand on "stuff" and I did.

Now, on top of scheduling an appointment for my yearly super squoosh (the mammogram), I've got an appointment with a genetics counselor. Because my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer pre-menopause and is now battling sarcoma (a different kind of cancer), he wants to determine what my risk factor is. Doesn't that sound fun?

So, that's been my day. How are things here? We all present and accounted for?

Oh man. You've been through the ringer lately!

Now I waited all morning for the allergist to call back about DS10. I did not get a shower hoping he would call. So I get a shower and I am standing there just about to dry my hair and that is when he calls. So now my hair dried all funky so I just pulled it back. That Murhphy's law thing.

Yep. I'm a regular black hole of medical drama. Don't stand too close or you might get sucked in... never to be heard from again... :rotfl:

:headache: I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me. Right now, I need to run downstairs and shuffle the laundry, but I'm not because the hospital is supposed to call to schedule my appointments.

Who am I kidding. I just don't want to do the laundry. :teeth:

It sounds like there are a couple of you out there that need to start planning a "I need to get the heck outta dodge" vacation - no phones, can't reach me, I need a break from it all type of thing. Don't tell the family where your going just that you will be unreachable from x to z. If it's an emergency then you will be checking your cell phone but you are not answering it! You will be spending some quality time with just those that live under your roof.

Give the little buggers a hug or a smack on the butt - whichever one applies at the moment

And for everyone else :grouphug: Remember we are all here to lean on, listen, and kick some butt if necessary!

D'OH!

Laundry. Oops. Been sitting here trying to figure out what to do with the chciken and I forgot laundry. I'm such a goob.

Well my dinner plans just went south. Now I need to cook...UGH! It might be pizza tonight.

Are you sure that your DS and mine don't go to the same school?

Wheelchair=cool..:cool1: He gets to sit around with a blanket on his lap while the others have to stand...

My DS at first chose George Washington..then while I was at Goodwill shopping for a jacket to fix up, I found a coonskin cap (not real ew..) and bought it. He thought it was cool so he changed to Davey Crockett. I learned alot about ole Davey while helping DS research. I just thought he was Fess Parker on the Disney show, but he actaully became a congressman..

You will appreciate this- I thought of you while I was cooking last night. I made butter beans cooked in bacon fat. Well, actually they were baby lima beans, but for some reason my Mammaw always called them butter beans, so that stuck..

They were yummy, but I forgot to cook some turnip greens, and I have fried okra in the freezer too. :goodvibes Maybe I will fix those with the leftovers tonight.. You know a vegetable plate! Do you have "meat-n-three" diners where you live?

I love butter beans even the baby limas, but speckled butter beans with okra is to die for.

Im lost at the meat-n-three, sometimes I make just veggies. If you decide to make turnip greens you have to make buttermilk cornbread. We love pot licking.

Robin, he wants him to go back on his nasal sprays, Afrin and Nasonex, since DS is complaining the stuff is gunking in his throat. And then he wants him back on the Xopenex until we see next Friday. Hope it works and that he doesnt catch what his brother has!

It is hard to type and eat a popsicle, who knew:rotfl2:
