Are there any nice offsite accomodations for our family of 5 that has a washer& dryer and possibly an in room microwave? Thank you for your input!

I've never heard of a hotel with in room washer/dryer. Are you also looking at "condo" styles?

I really don't know. Lol. We have hilton honors points. Our family has never all been to Disney. Hubby and I just left MK yesterday. It was my first trip ever. He had a work convention in Orlando.

Okay, we are big Hilton Honors folks. We are 5 as well. Will you have a car?

We have stayed at quite a few Hiltons to go to Disney for extended trips and used the washer/dryer in the hotel, they just aren't in the rooms/suites.

I can make suggestions on a few I have stayed at, but having a car is important to me if you are staying off property.

Otherwise there are some Hiltons on property that have a decent bus system to the parks. They will just be more points.

Yes, we will have a car. We love Hilton Honors! Thank you so much for your input!

We were thinking of staying 4 nights, then heading to the Madeira Beach area for a couple days. Love it there.

I am not familiar with Hilton Honors but if you can use the points at Hilton Grand Vacation properties, they would have suites that meet your needs.

We have stayed at so many Hilton properties in Orlando I've lost track. Doubletree, Buena Vista, Hilton DS, Hilton Orlando, 4 Embassy Suites, 2 Homewood Suites, 2 Hamptons, Garden Inn ..............

If you get away from Disney Springs area your points needed tends to go down.

I will put those with good point values in blue.

Pull these up these below with your dates, compare the points needed against what they provide you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your higher point options, but they are on Disney property, walkable to Disney Springs and have their own shuttle service that is pretty good - hence saving you parking at Disney parks. Through 2018 these hotels get Extra Magic Hours and 60 day advance FP+ booking:

Doubletree Suites - Disney Springs:
One of our favorites, newly renovated a few years ago. Bedroom, bath and large living room with dining table and chairs (they brought us an extra since it only has 4) and kitchenette with fridge and microwave. If you are Honors, depending on level you might be able to get coupons for the continental breakfast. You will have parking fee. Pool area is basic but a nice place for a break. Have stayed many times.

Buena Vista Palace / Island Suites - Disney Springs:
These are newly renovated, resort has a great pool area and is right across from Disney Springs. Suite has microwave and mini fridge. Have not stayed since the renovation was complete and pool open. http://www.buenavistapalace.com/ For POINTS this is a premium room, so very high. (This would compare to the Grand Vacations suites).

OFF DISNEY PROPERTY:

Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista is an older ES but has all the basics. This one has a main building and outer buildings so your room may open to the outside. They just did a major renovation to outside amenities and pool areas. We stayed pre-renovation but since they added extra fees (which you don't pay with points but points are usually higher) we have not gone back.

Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista SOUTH is newer, sleek and beautifully decorated. It is one of our favorites and I have two trips booked here. The breakfast is an ES style but often has even more items that usual. The managers reception has the best snack items we've ever seen at an ES (we stay at them all the time). Simple pool area but quiet and just what we need. Grocery is across the street so easy to stock up. We stayed 9 days here once and used the laundry which was right on the floor with us. Usually lower points than the others right or on Disney property.

Homewood Suites Lake Buena Vista will give you a kitchen, full fridge, stove, microwave, dw and dining table. These are suites so you get a bedroom and sleepable living room. Plus here is the hot breakfast is included and some evenings a light dinner is included. We are booked here for this fall.

Hampton Inn LBV SOUTH has a great room that is called a Queen Studio Suite but it's only one room. But you get two queens and a sofabed. It has a fridge and microwave and huge bathroom. We have stayed here and laughed the room was as big as small apartment. Hot breakfast is included. Great value for the rates but double check with points, this may be premium room under points.

Home 2 Suites is a new hotel and not far from Disney. I've looked at one in another town where it's connected to Hampton I stayed a few times and loved the modern touches and colors. It's Disney kind of fun. These are studio rooms so again you would be in one room. Two beds and sofabed. Breakfast is included. These are really nice new additions to Hilton line.

They are a family of 5 and I think that becomes a problem when trying to book Grand Vacations with points. The points will now be up in the 100,000 per night range .... she can book her entire stay at another Hilton for that amount.

HopperFan, given your experience with the area Hilton properties, do you happen to know if any of them offer 2 bedroom suites? I know a few around here do. Our next trip will be 3 generations, one of whom has to work part of the trip, and having separate sleeping space with the ability to close doors would help everyone out!

We are HHonors and IHG rewards members, so prefer to stay with one of those brands if we can--if anyone knows if any of the area holiday inns or other IHG properties has 2 bedroom units that would be great, too.

Of course we can search property- by-property and will if we need to, but I figured I'd consult the collective wisdom here too.

Staybridge Suites Lake Buena Vista has 2 BR suites. I believe the Holiday Inn Waterpark (old Nickelodeon hotel) has them as well (not 100%). There is always the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Orange Lake Resort which is HUGE and has everything from a regular room to 3 BR suites. That is located out in Kissimmee not far past Animal Kingdom.

We loved StayBridge Suites Lake Buena Vista. It has been newly renovated and they did a great job. Our two bedroom had a King in the master with it's own bath, and two beds in the second bedroom with it's own bath - great for mixed groups. Living room had a sofabed and the kitchen was a nice setup. Had a great breakfast buffet with lots of variety and plenty of seating. The pool is small and basic but lovely and peaceful. Walking distance dining and other stores, grocery across the street and very easy drive to Disney or Universal.

The Holiday Inn waterpark has "2"and "3" bedrooms where one is an alcove with no door and bunkbeds. "Two-bedroom king family suite, sleeps 8. - 2 private master bedrooms with plush king beds. Semi-private alcove room with a bunkbed and queen sleeper sofa ".
--------------------------

Doubletree Suites in Lake Buena Vista has 2 bedroom suites, though I don't think many. "2 BEDROOM SUITE 1 KING/2QEENS W/SOFABED".

Buena Vista Palace Disney Springs has Tower 2 Bedroom suites, http://www.buenavistapalace.com/stay/tower-suites/

I don't know offhand if any of the others have 2 bedrooms.

Thanks all! We actually were booked at Staybridge for our recent trip but when a room came up last minute at POFQ we decided with a short stay we'd rather be on property. It's nice to hear more great reviews of it.

Next year's needs may be different, though, so I'm trying to figure out what would serve us best. In my dreams we'd get a 2 bedroom bungalow at the Poly, but...well, we don't play the lottery, so we probably won't win between now and then!

I sense a spreadsheet coming on...

I'm still seriously contemplating switching our Doubletree reservation to the Staybridge for a 2BR. It looks so nice and spacious. It's just that 60+ day FP that DT DS offers that keeps pulling me back!
