Random. You could tip big, but even that is no guarantee. It is all part of the Disney magic. Don't expect the magic. Let the magic come to you... well...magically.:goodvibes

I don't think there really is a rhyme or reason to getting them or not getting them. It depends on if the mousekeeper has been trained to make them, if they have time, if the planets are aligned properly ... :confused3

No trick. Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't, that's indeed the way it goes. Even tipping the housekeeper is no guarantee.

I have tipped and well and nothing. wish it was a more consistant thing. kids look for them:confused:

The past few trips we've taken, we've always found a towel animal on one of the beds either on the first or second day, usually when first entering the room (before any tip had been left). Which led me to believe that was done for every guest. Especially since we don't have small children; our kids are adults.

I think some mousekeepers are just better at doing them than others or possibly have more time. When we stayed at the Contemporary we got a little mouse like animal one day and a toothbrush holder made of a washcloth another day. At POFQ last year we had a big Mickey Head on the bed when we arrived and that was it.

Mousekeepings job is to clean the rooms. If they then have extra time, they may do something special. However, not all can do the animals and not all have the time every day. So, it is random... and it should stay random. That is why it is "pixie dust".

I know I in the minority but I don't like the towel animals. They kind of freak me out. I do love though when Mousekeepng tucks my kids' stuffed animals in. So cute!

We still like getting towel animals, but our oldest DD(7) likes it better when mousekeeping stages her toys in the bed or window:) We think that is just more of a magical touch.

I'm with you. ;) They don't freak me out, but I'd personally rather than spend more time cleaning better than giving so many of them out. It used to be that they were super uncommon, now they aren't. Well, except for the OP I guess. ;) I too like when they pose our stuffed animals or something like that. :scratchin Knew I liked you "yenta". ::yes::

Towel animals are fun. I love when we get them. But, if we got them all the time, it wouldn't be special. Why do people expect (or even want) to get them all the time??? :confused3. It would be like having Christmas everyday. Where is the fun and magic in that? If a mousekeeper chooses to sprinkle you with some "pixie dust" consider it luck, and don't be disappointed if they don't, because I'm pretty sure it's not in their job duties.

I've been on trips where we've gotten none, and some where we've gotten tons (elaborate ones)...it has just made the times when we've gotten them more special. :thumbsup2

I'm the complete opposite. I don't care whether we get a towel animal or not. I mean, I think they are cute, but I don't find them particulary magical. Certainly not enough to let it put a damper on our stay.

BUT,

I would never want anyone who has been cleaning bathrooms all day touching something my kids put against their face when they sleep at night. Ick. We always put the kids' stuffed animals in the outside pocket of a suitcase when we leave for the parks. Of course, we also have a rule that if their animals hit the floor then they don't get them back until they are properly washed. They are very careful about that, and we stay in hotels about 20 nights a year. I can't imagine where houskeeping would put them when they were making the bed if we left them on the bed. Again, ick.

I'm not a germaphobe in the slightest, but that is something I just couldn't do.

Kids should be prepared that they may not get them every day, or at all.

Trivia: All towel animals are named...TERRY;)

Just a little let down when you hope to get just one in a trip. that is all. I know it is hard at times, and I am not looking for one every day of our trip. One on the trip would be cool. That's all. I don't want to come across as complaining, was just asking if there was a trick to get at least one. I was at POR twice last year and got one in July. Was hoping for one in Dec. as it was my in-laws first time at disney and nothing. I know if we get them all the time it will not be special anymore. I will continue to tip my mousekeepers well as I know they have a tough job.

We just got back from 13 nights at the YC and no towel animals.Kids were so dissapointed

I totally understand :flower3:

I am hoping we will get one at least. I have never stayed on site before, and this is
DD9s first trip. I have not told her anything about them, but I know she would be super excited to see one. I am not expecting it just hoping.
