Was there ever a time where people with babies went to the front of the line?

I was talking to my neighbor about WDW. She said that the best trip to WDW that they ever had was when their DS was a baby (back in about 1996 - before Fast Pass). She said that because they had a baby with them, they got to go to the front of every line and ride every ride as often as they wanted.

I've never heard of such a thing. I couldn't really contradict her, because she was there and I wasn't. I'm thinking that maybe they were there there at a really slow time and/or she was remembering baby swap.

She said, "I always tell people that they're so lucky if they're going with a baby since they'll get to go to the front of the line." Unless this is a perk that has totally escaped the DIS, I think she is going to have some disappointed friends with babies if she really tells them that.

Or is she somehow remembering correctly?

No. They have always offered baby swap, though. One parent waits in the regular line, the other parent gets a baby swap ticket (basically a fast pass) so they don't have to wait in the line. When the 1st parent is done riding, the 2nd can go.

With fast pass now, we usually just grab 2 fastpasses, and take turns.

Sounds like Baby Swap and selective memory. Perhaps the reason she never waited was because she was the 2nd person in the baby swap situation. On most rides, everyone waits in the line unless they have fastpasses, those in carriages as well as those in wheelchairs.
