I'm going on a "budget" trip so of course a $30 gift card that I can use towards food sounds appealing.

Anyone regret choosing the gift card over a freshly made bed and towels?

I've done this with and without my kids (10 and 2) and we never regretted it. We would call daily for the trash to be taken out and fresh towels before we walked out the door for the parks. It was always done before we returned midday for a nap. I would honestly say 25% of the time they still made our beds when they refreshed our towels and trash.

Absolutely! You can call for anything specific you need, and the $60 (7 nights) is a fun way to say yes to something we don’t normally say yes to. We normally opt out of housekeeping at normal hotels anyway so it’s nice to be paid for it for once! 😂

Not worth it to us-LOVE heading to the Parks leaving an unmade bed, towels on the bathroom floor, trash in the can, etc. and then coming back from the Parks to a "Check-in ready" room!

Vacation at WDW to us means no hassle of driving a car and no "housework"!

Not enough money involved to "sway" us.

But I see we are a big minority!lol :)

No regrets. Last time I took the card I had nearly a 2 week stay. Every few days, I phoned the housekeeping line early morning and asked for clean towels, coffee, etc and it usually appeared outside my door in a plastic bag by the time I returned to the room at night. Trash could be left outside the door tied up in the garbage bag provided in the can. Always removed by the time I returned to the room.

I wasn't certain if I could access the gift card digitally on my phone as very old android with no travel data plan and relying on in park wifi. CMs at front desk put housekeeping credit on a gift card for me. Easy and very convenient.

Since this is an adults o ly trip i am seriously thinking about skipping on the mousekeeping.

If you have them refresh with new towels... I am guessing they take the old towels with them?

I know trash can be put outside.. do we do that with the towels as well?

Yes the 10.00 is worth it. I still get clean towels everyday and no tips to deal with. It was definitely worth it. It would be worth it for 5.00. Let alone 10.00
Like everyone has said. You still get clean towels and all. Just call and ask or you can get them off a maid cart.

100% worth it. I don't need to pay $10 a day for someone to make the beds and they were quite generous with towels and such. I actually hadn't planned on opting in, but last time I stayed I kind of just said yes as a knee jerk reaction to check in questions. And didn't want to bother the CM to go back once she'd started the process and I woke up and figured out what was going on.

I was actually kind of kick myself as it was an 11 day stay and I thought getting towels and garbage taken out would be a pain. It wasn't. It was a super easy process and I didn't have to worry about getting up and pre-making the bed for housekeeping (yes I do that, I don't know why, I blame my mother). So yes, 100% worth it.

I generally prefer not having extra ppl come in my room, so it was worth it for us, but my brother inlaw decided to keep it cause he really likes having a fresh room every day so it really just depends on your preference.

No regrets here! I usually try to keep housekeeping out of my room anyway, since I'm a clean and tidy person and I don't like people touching my stuff. Usually the do not disturb sign is always on the door. So the option to get money for something I'm already doing is a dream!

We do it any resort we are staying at. At Dolphin it's either points or a gift card to use in their restaurants. I usually put the do not disturb on my door anyway since I really don't like people in my room. I keep my towels hung up and pick up after myself anyway so I just request new towels and coffee when I need them.

Do most folks call the front desk for towels or do most try to find a maid cart in the hall and ask for somewhere?

someone else here asked about the old towels but I dont think I caught the answer, do you leave them in the hall?

Are there extra garbage bags in the baskets or do you ask for those as well?

We have an 11 day stay so $100 ( like $125 to me as I’m Canadian) is definitely worth it but I would like to understand the logistics

We usually call housekeeping.

We usually drop those off on a maid cart. On the rare times we don't come across one, we drop them in the towel return at the pool.

We've always had to ask for more with the towels.
