I just dont know if this is gonna be a good decision. We have a 14 year old and a 7 year old. Im worried its not gonna feel like disney. and Im gonna miss the boat to dtd. last three stays were at WL, POFQ, and POR. so we had a little perk to each. so am I gonna feel like we missed out on something at CSR? Feedback....from anyone....please:/

We stayed at CSR a couple of times and we really enjoyed the resort. I was concerned before staying, like you, because I was worried about it being a convention hotel.

As far as not feeling like Disney, it is true that there are not large icons like at the value resorts all over the place. But, it does an excellent job of making you feel that you are in the Southwest. The large bolders around the Ranchos section and the lovely fountains in the Casita area are so pretty and interesting. If you have time, take your kids on a tour of the whole resort, exploring the different areas. Also, each area has a private pool in addition to the main pool. I really enjoyed the Casitas quiet pool. Let you kids check each one out.

The buses at CSR were really good when we were there and I have recently read that this may still be true.

:surfweb:Do yourself and your family a faor and change to POP! The kids will love it, you will love it and the food is good and bus service is great!:thumbsup2 We have been there now for many years. We did a quick trip down in July and stayed at ASMU and it was not good. We missed POP every day.

Not sure why you thought CBR didn't "feel like Disney" and POR, WL did? If you need 'in your face' Disney icons everywhere, then perhaps the value resorts are more your style. If it's just 'extras' like the boat to DTD then perhaps the gym facilities at CSR, or the Pepper Market buffets will fill the bill for you.

It all comes down to personal opinion and esthetic preferences. No one else can tell you whether or not you'll like any given resort.

Would not do a value from being at mods and deluxes. We always stayed at values then did mods and deluxes. The last two times we did POP and ASMo. We won't go back to a value unless it's absolutely necessary. You like the perks of boats- hoping CRS will be good. haven't done that mod yet- looks more spread out than CBR.

Your 14 year old and 7 year old will LOVE the pool at CSR. It's got the best slide of all the moderates and I did love the pool theming.

I also loved the buses. Because it's a convention hotel, it seemed like the buses weren't as crowded.

The theming of the different areas of CSR is interesting. I was only there for a long weekend and didn't get to check them all out but I did enjoy the Ranchos area.

I wasn't a big fan of the Pepper Market but there is a grab and go place that worked for me there.

POR is my favorite moderate. But I think you should give CSR a try.

We liked CSR. It wasn't as "Disney" as other resorts but still great. The pool was great, and we enjoyed all the fountains tucked between buildings.

I am not really sure what you are looking for OP. Besides not having a boat to DTD, what specifically did you not like about cbr? CSR to us was the least Disney resort. The rooms are beautiful but could be a room in any decent level hotel. They reminded us of the nicer holiday inn expresses we stay at frequently with. Like cbr, CSR is spread out. I thought the food options were better at CSR but that the pool was better at cbr. We had great bus service at both resorts. POR is spread out as well so maybe you can give us some specific things other than a boat to DTD that are important to you.

I hated how big CBR was and it turned me off to moderates. I don't know what to say since I don't know your financial situation but if it were me, I would either do deluxe or a value since the values are really disney themed. Good luck with your decision.

I hated CBR but liked CSR. POFQ is still my favorite moderate, but we enjoyed our stay at CSR and would stay there again. If you're looking for "in your face" Disney themeing, then CSR isn't that. But then again, I don't feel POR or WL are exactly that way either.

The boat transportation at the other resorts is nice, but this past trip we had pretty decent bus service at CSR. My one tip there is don't wait at the El Centro stop. That was the one stop where we faced buses that were already full and had to wait a considerable time. It's the last stop to pick up for all routes except DTD. We had much better luck going to the Casitas bus stop.

DD really enjoyed the pool. And I liked the relaxing, laid-back feel of the resort. The lunch buffet at the Pepper Market was probably the best meal I've had that would be a QS credit. We skipped the DDP this year so we were paying OOP for it, but I still felt like it was a great meal for the price.

I'm a firm believer in trying out new resorts. You might just find that you really enjoy CSR.

I agree. POR doesnt feel like disney any more than CSR does. If you want the disney feel, stick with the values. They have it. I personally love values! :)

CSR is a beautiful resort thou. We just got back saturday. We had a lot of fun. The place is gorgeous and the buses were amazing. I honestly still like POR a bit better thou. Its prettier. I like the pool and food court better.

We really liked CSR but then again it kinda reminded me of CBR. Can you switch resorts or is it too late?

Agreed.

My fam and I LOVE the mods. I have teenagers who definitely love the serenity the mods offer that the values do not. But my kids, nor me or my DH, have never been fans of the values. Different strokes for different folks though :) With that being said, we adore CSR (it is our favorite mod). Fantastic pool, beautiful grounds, very clean, and quiet. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of the parks.

Either way, whatever you choose, if a resort appeals to you, stay there. :goodvibes

We did not like the fact the CBR was so big. My kids will not go back, they LOVE AS Movies I try to get them to upgrade "no way" They have updated the rooms carpet, spreads, curtains and Fridge included now. CSR is a site for lots of conventions so keep that in mind....Good Luck, make the best of it, if you do stay there! :wizard:
