We were booked BLT STD in March and just yesterday had to unexpectedly had to switch our dates to April 3-9. I am so sad we lost BLT. My only choices now are OKW (not HH) or SSR. I grabbed OKW , and now not sure if its too close to even bother waitlisting another resort? Should I bother? we really wanted BLT and I know that STD will be impossible to grab again. Any advice?

I’d still waitlist as it doesn’t hurt. I’d also check the website Multiple times a day. I just snagged 2 nights at BLT LV studio Tuesday for March 31st and April 1st.

If you have extra points or are willing to split stay, you could piece together something. Just make sure that if you are booking pieces and not replacing, be sure to cancel those if you don’t get what you want at least 31 days or more.

We dont want to break up the week, but I know many people do that, just not for us. If I am waitlisting and then I see something first do I go cancel the wailist prior to grabbing the dates? Never ever had to completely switch a vacation week in all my trips to Disney. We had booked STD BLT, is Lake view a better shot to waitlist? Costs more points then I'd like but... only resorts still showing as of this AM is OKW, and SSR STD/Preferred. This is our first trip alone as couple since our 1997 honeymoon!

I'd definitely waitlist. A CM once told me that there's a lot of activity as the 30 days approaches. That's because cancelling within 30 days causes the points to go into the dreaded holding. So lots of people book at 7-11 months out, plans change, and yet they just say to themselves "We'll get around to cancelling sometime-and who knows, maybe our plans will change back so we can go after all." But at just before 30 days, they know they'd better cancel. Our last waitlist came through at 31 days, maybe for that reason.

thanks for this advice! Crushed to have to move the dates and lose our first choice, but at least we are still going.

waitlisted BLT lake view, thinking it was a better chance over std view, and also Jambo house studio std view. Wish 3 were allowed to waitlist, I would have also added BWV Garden Pool view.

Since you have OKW booked, you can just go into the website a few times a day and try to modify your reservation and see if anything else pops up. if it does, then you can continue with the booking and it will replace your OKW.

You would never cancel a waitlist until you no longer need it, If you could change to something else, but still want to try for BLT and AKV, leave those in place,

Things change so often that you never know. I was just able to switch my May trip from CCV 1 bedroom for 4 nights to a split between BWV and BCV 1 bedrooms. Hoping before then, I can get the BWV switched To BCV (or RIV) especially since neither of these options were there last night And 1 of those 2 nights is available. Since I am hoping for getting in to then MM event at Epcot on May 4th, it’s great that I am now in that area.
