Was Live Now Great Memories From the May 27th Double Scoop Cruise

Is the invitation to the bridge a purely magic happening, or does one put in a note with guest services to show interest?

How exciting, Mary!!! Can't wait to hear all about your experience pushing the magical button. :)

Then back to our room and a Magical Moment. Waiting on our message fish was an invitation to join the Captain on the bridge Friday afternoon as we leave Castaway Cay. Andy your luck must be rubbing off on us! We are very excited! I know one other DIS family that also got an invitation.

That is soooo cool!! Congrats!! :cool1: I know my family would be thrilled to check out the bridge. Normally I would hope for a little Pixie Dust, but may be I need to hope for some "Andy Dust". :rotfl2:

Buddy Bear

I think many of us on the Aug double dip would love some of the "Andy Dust"

These reports are GREAT! Thx for sharing!

I just can't wait to see those Navigators. I hope someone posts them quickly after returning home.

Wow, how cool. We sail Sunday and it would be super magical to meet the Captain and I would just love to press the horn. I'm a sap when it comes to magical moments like that so it would be very cool. Hope your group has fun with it and don't forget the camera. =o)

While the stuff was in the dryer I went up to deck 9 and made some tea and since Topsiders wasn't open yet went over to the Goofy Gallery which is new since we last sailed the Magic in December of 2004. They had a number of pastries and they had Stollen bread - just like in Palo.
This sounds like a very perfect morning to me! I'm so glad to hear they put Stollen out at GG...I will have to make a mental note of that! I LOVE STOLLEN! :thumbsup2

Oh another note for those of you with little ones - I saw they were playing Playhouse Disney on the Dumbotron this morning. :)
GREAT news! My daughter loves all the Playhouse Disney shows and we're both up very early every day. I think this would be something nice to do...and I'm sure that hardly anyone is on deck that early.
THANKS!

Congrats on the invitation to join the Captain. That must have been such a nice surprise!

PJ...I think it is purely magic and chance. :sunny:

Mark, Mary and the others, have a magical time on Friday afternoon as you prepare to sailaway from Castaway Cay!!!!! :goodvibes :thumbsup2 :wizard:

Glad to hear everyone is having a great time!!!! We do so wish we could have been with you, but I know DDprincess: would not have understood (graduation is a biggie)

Mary you are doing exactly what I would be doing, nothing ....and it sounds heavenly. :cloud9:

Mary it is great to hear you will be on the bridge for a tour and to push that button. I guess you have been wishing on a few stars yourself. you mentioned a DIS family was going with you (do I need to guess which one?) Have a great time. Maybe our ladies group will have the same opportunity in Sept. Oh Stacie........ work your magic!!!!

I know you all are having a great time, but still remembering Garry. You are all the best!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone! Thanks for the congrats. As Andy stated it is just pure Disney magic - not something you ask for. In fact I think if people did start asking for it they would take it away. I also believe from Andy's report that it is a bridge visit for a larger group rather than one or two selected to blow the horn which again is fine by me. Andy was blessed enough to do the horn a couple of years ago but I think they have now opted for this.

Getting a late start this morning because we had a very long but fun evening. After dinner and changing clothes I headed up to deck 9 to see if I could snag some chairs for the deck party. They were all gone already (this was before 9 pm) so I opted to sit on deck 10 directly across from the Dumbotron on this little riser. A gentleman came up and asked if I was a poster from the DIS. Seems he's been reading and recognized my picture. So we talked for a little bit and then another couple came up with two chairs from downstairs. We hadn't thought of that. The gentleman I was talking to went and got two for his family and then asked if I had anyone to get some for me. Mark was still back in the room so I said no and he went and got two for me. We ended up with great seats this way! The Dumbotron is really nice at times like this as it was playing a screen saver of underwater life. Really nice and helped pass the time. It was also put to good use during the party itself with screen shots and close-ups of the characters.

After the party they showed a preview of Pirates of the Caribbean II and then a screening of the first Pirates movie. What a cool experience to be sitting out in the Caribbean and watching Pirates on the big screen. Many pulled lounge chairs onto the dance floor below and from above it looked like a modern version of a drive in movie. We stayed in our chairs on deck 10 and just moved them back a bit so we could see the whole screen. The version they showed was a slightly longer one with extra scenes. Very nice. It was 1 am before we got to the room and with the time change that meant 2 am! Needless to say we slept in and are missing our character breakfast this morning, but we told our servers not to expect us.

Looking forward to another fun day at sea and a chance to see Ducky at 11 am. We are also doing High Tea this afternoon which is something we love.

Have a great day all!

Wow Congrats on the invitation to the bridge! That is something that totally intrigues me. I would love to glance at some of the navigation equipment and controls. I am totally a junkie when it comes to stuff like that. Meeting the Captain in that setting would be really cool as well.

Thanks! It sounds like you guys are having a great time. I'm so jealous. I booked the Sept Double Dip in May of 2005. It has seemed like an eternity that I have had to wait. This will be our first cruise ever. I'm loving reading your daily posts. Please keep them coming!
