Was Anyone Upgraded? From What Category To What?

WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE WAS "UPGRADED" FROM WHAT CATEGORY TO WHAT?

I AM SURE WE ALL WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT.

We just got upgraded from a cat 11 to a cat 9. We were pleasantly surprised. I was jumping up and down excited.

How did you find out? Did they ask you or just do it?

We were upgraded from 11 to 9 too. Our TA told us about 60 days out.

On our Jan 2003 Wonder cruise, we had booked a cat 9, and were upgraded to a cat 6. We had an assigned room, had booked directly with DCL, and one day I checked our ressie, and the room number had changed. We booked about 50 days before sailing, and our upgrade happened shortly before we got our docs. When we got our documents, they had the new cabin number listed, so that was our "official" notification of the upgrade.

I am finally a member of the 'upgrade' club after 2 other DCL cruise, I got a very unexpected upgrade for our Nov 4, 2004 cruise!

Some background:

We are a family of 4.

We were left a message on our machine that we were upgraded so we were not asked.

We had an assigned room. Booked through DU.

I book category 8 way back in January 2003 and paid it off last September.

I found out a couple of months ago from Dreams Unlimited (phone call) that we were upgraded to a category 5.

That is pretty early to find out too!

I had cabin 7014 and now have 7034.

We are VERY happy!

We got upgraded from an 11 GTY to a 10, I was very happy.....

Upgraded from 7 to a 5.

I wasn't offically UPGRADED but I went from a cat. 10 to a 6 thanks to the Florida resident special. NO EXTRA MONEY! Yippee!!!!!!!

We didn't ask. We didn't even find out until we got our docs and I noticed the room number. We didn't get our docs until about 12 days out. We have four in our room.

kaykels - your location says Pennsylvania. Can you use a FL discount if you live in PA?

We are a family of 5 who originally booked 2 connecting Cat 8's about 15 months before we were supposed to leave. About 3 weeks before sailing we were informed via email from Dreams Unlimited that we had been complimentary upgraded to 2 connecting Cat 4's free of charge. It was a total surprise and it was nice to get but we NEVER EVER thought we'd be one of those upgraded.

We were upgraded from a GTY9 to a cat 8. We did not know until wechecked in at the port.

We have a category 10 SPH next sept. Totally happy w/room and location, but wouldn't fuss over upgrade to cat 9 or balcony room. Has anyone w/an SPH ever gotten an upgrade?

Unfortunately, we were not upgraded but wish we had spent a little more money for a bigger room. We were in a cat. 11 inside. The king size bed was great for my husband and I but my mother slept on the sofa/bed and she said it was not very comfortable for an adult. However, my nephew loved the top bunk. The room was very small because of the king size bed & there was hardly any drawer space. With three adults and a child this room was too small.

On our May '03 Wonder cruise we were upgraded from a cat 5 to a 4. We had the land/sea package and didn't find out until we arrived at the Beach Club - a nice surprise
