We are thinking of staying 2 nights at ASM in May 2008. We would be in a family suite because there is 6 of us (4 adults 2 kids). What do others think of these rooms and this resort? We requested the Calypso building; is this a good choice? Help please!!!

This will be our first time at All Star Music! MY son and his family are staying in the family suite and we, hopefully, will be close by. We will also be in the Calypso. I think this is the only one with family suites. I could be wrong. Has happened before!!!:rotfl: We will be there in 14 days! I am sure though, that someone else here will tell you about them before we get back!!!

Hi, we were just there at All Star Music from July 28 - August 4. I couldn't get the family suite but it has to be bigger than the rooms. They were very small. There is a cafeteria which has just your typical burgers, fries and chicken fingers. My kids didn't seem to mind it. We were at Building 8 (Broadway) and it is quite a walk to the bus stop, but manageable and quiet. I think Calypso is the building towards the front. If you don't face the main pool, you are ok. If you face the main pool, it's very noisy, because people stay out really late in the pool. Because the All Star resorts have the most rooms, lineups at the bus stops at night were something I didn't look forward to. We stayed there because of a Grand Gathering, and some of my friends didn't want to pay the extra to upgrade to a moderate resort, but will not stay there again next time. Hope you have a great time.:cool1:

We stayed at the family suites last november. I thought they were wonderful. We had 2 suites for 9 adults. They were roomy enough for all of us. Having 2 bathrooms in each suite (4 total between the 2 suites) was great. The foldout double sofa where I slept was comfortable and my sister said the foldout chair was also quite comfortable. We had suites next door to each other in Jazz. It was quite a haul to the room at night, especially after a 12-14 hour day at the parks. We are staying at the family suites again in January 08 but requested the Calypso building. Those are the two buildings closest to the bus stops, food, and the pools. These may be a little more noisy but we're willing to take that chance. We had no complaints except the walk at the end of the day. It was very convienent to have a the mini-fridge in the rooms too. We had ordered a case of water online from staples and had it delivered to the hotel which worked out great!!!!!!!!! We are very happy with the family suites and we will continue to stay in them. ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

We stayed at the All Star Music Resort last November and loved it. We were in the Rock and Roll building which was quite a trek at the end of the day but it was very quiet which was nice. We did not stay in a family suite however. There were six of us but we stayed in 2 adjoining rooms. Hubby, myself and 2 daughters(10 and 4) in one room and my parents in the other room. It was nice to have adjoining rooms because the girls could sleep in our room and still check on grandma and grandpa and visit them.:) Actually we are all going to be back there next month and I requested the same rooms because they were so nice.

we stayed at Music 2 years ago, and are heading back in 6 weeks time, we love it here, and have requested Jazz building. It is 1 minute further to walk than Calypso I'd say, so not too bad, at least for Sept/Oct heat and humidity.

We have a great time, and the lines for the buses during this time are never too long.
