A lady I work with told me she went to WDW last week (boy was I mad at her for not taking me with her;)-I got even with her though, I told her how I could've said her some mega bucks if she had only told me she was going to go:teeth: ). She said she was VERY surprised how uncrowded WDW was for the week of the 4th. She thought it would packed. Was it really as uncrowded as she led me to believe?

Good question . . .I was wondering the same thing.

We went June 20 - 26 and it was really really really CROWDED!
CM's at WL and other resorts said they were at 100% capacity and they were right!

The previous year we went July 4 - 11 and crowds were very manageable.

I hope I was enjoying that TT with you, JTB.:p

WUAS, why don't we head out to WDW right now!

I was there on the 4th and it was not near as crowded as I expected. I understand MK was a nightmare, but I expected that. I did AK in the morning and it was fine. (at noon a 10 minute Safari wait time posted.)
I went to MGM at 7 pm and saw Indiana Jones and then walked onto Star Tours. The fireworks viewing there was pretty full however. I then hoofed it over to Epcot and had a decent (not front row) view of the fireworks there.

I think the Disney resorts were pretty full, but for the parks to hit true gridlock requires the surrounding hotels to be full as well and they just aren't. I have been watching and you can get some great deals at DTD hotels and hotels near Disney this summer. So while Disney may have filled up thier hotels that is not enought to pack the parks.

there last week too and said the crowds were manageable

I went to EPCOT on the 2nd and it must have been pre 4th that it was crowded, b/c we got there at 10:00, and the fastpasses for test-track were at 7:30 p.m., which is unusual, b/c this early you can usually get them for around 2-3 at the latest..... Allthough we DID get to test out Mission:Space AKA the Vomit Comit Rocket!

We were there the 4th thru the 6th. We spent most of the day on the 4th at Epcot, then at around 6 took the monorail over to MK for the fireworks. I was actually a little surprised the MK wasn't filled to capacity by this time. The rest of the weekend the parks were full, but it wasn't horrible.
Here are 2 pics my DD took of the fireworks, the castle is kind of blurry, but I still like them.
