On our recent stay at the WL I forgot to bring my own soap and used the Mickey soap. I discovered its made of Ivory soap. Some people can use Ivory with no problem, but it eats my skin off! I realized it was Ivory by the smell before I used too much of it. However, I couldn't find any regular type of soap at any of the gift shops and the hotels only supply the Mickey soap. I ended up buying a $10 bar of soap at the Boardwalk gift shop just to have something to wash up with. I ALWAYS pack my own soap, because my skin is somewhat sensitive. I've found hotels and hospitals tend to use Ivory, probably because its cheap. This is the first trip in 30 years I forgot to bring my own soap. Just wanted to warn anyone with sensitive skin.

I think Ivory is used so often because it is very mild and sensitivity to it is rare, although it obviously can happen! I don't like Ivory because it is waxy and leaves a film on me and the tub. It is okay for handwashing for us, but not bathing. We like Dove and always bring it with us on trips.

Im so glad you mentioned that thankyou. Although I plan to bring soap, things happen as we all know and now i will try to remind myself not to forget. Im terribly allergic to Ivory.

Thankyou again :)

I too have a very sensitive skin type and am unable to use Ivory. I am the person who has to buy $10 soap to not break into a rash. I will be sure to pack my soap first. Thank you very much!
