I have this Visa card that I use primarily for those businesses and institutions that do not take American Express. I have used it to pay tuition, etc and I was saving the points until I reached a particular amount. I logged on today to pay a bill and have discovered that 10,000 points just vanished. I called. Apparently, unlike Amex and Delta Sky Miles cards, these points expire at 5 years. I have 3800 points expiring at the end of this month. Rather than deal with that mess, I cashed in my points for cash. I could have gotten an IPOD, etc but the point value extrapolates into pretty much what the dollar value would be, so they are sending me a check. I will have some remaining miles, but I have now learned not to accumulate them. It isn't worth it.
