I think we should stop worrying (if I would only take my own advice - but this is part of the fun - the excitement, the gamble) and just go with the flow. No one has reported back with cancellation with this latest twist. No one has reported back with having to pay extra upon check-in with this latest twist. We don't care what happened in the past, as we all know Disney's policies and the words out of a CM seem pretty random at best.

Just because it happened in the past does not mean it will happen now. Just because it did not happen in the past does not mean it won't happen now.

The CM I talked too said that once you had the ressie you could change and the code issue was not a problem

I agree because I tried to change my ressie and the code carried over, though I supposedly was eligible for the pin discount.

I finally worked up the courage to call and change my ressie.I did indeed move it up a day, and no one questioned me or even mentioned that i was traveling on a discount. They just repeated the price (which was correct with the discount) and changed it for me.

40% off the mystery code is 40% off room. Some code requires package purchase (room, dining and tickets). So, overall it's less than 40%. But if you just figure with room cost, it is probably 40%.

Depending on the time of year you are going, which resort you are staying at, how many people in your party, their ages, etc.... it could well be the 40% code you used -

It is 40% off the room but you pay full price for tickets and Disney Dining plan if you have those on your package.
