Although our belongings were well concealed in our stroller's basket, someone went through everything and stole our video camera and our regular camera. Luckily we had our digital camera with us.

I know Disney tells you not to leave valuables in your stroller, but ours was well concealed before we even got to the park. So it wasn't like someone watched us hide everything, you know? And we had never had problems in the past, but this time our stroller wasn't even in the same place as we left it. So we think someone took the stroller, rummaged through it, took what they wanted, then just left it. A cast member put it back with all the other strollers - no where near the place we originally parked it.

By the way, this happened at Animal Kingdom on Wednesday 10/20 outside of the Festival of the Lion King show.

So please heed this advice and take all of your things with you!!! We learned the hard way that there are really uncaring people out there (yes, even at Disney!) who will steal your memories!!!

Wow that is scary! We were at Animal Kingdom on 10/21 with a stroller. No one stole anything, although, we kept our cameras with us.

I'm so sorry this happened to you!

The only thing I am planning on leaving in the stroller is extra diapers and wipes. Things of little value. A friend of mine went in September and someone stole their dollar store ponchos from their stroller and didn't touch anything else.

I hate that this happened to you. But I do appreciate the warning.

We have not travelled light since our children were born and have left our camera, video camera, and other valuables in the stroller when we were in a rush to make a show time or get onto an attraction without lugging everything with us.

I used to tell myself that it was not 100% safe (nothing is), but would take the risk anyway, thinking that most dishonest people would not invest the almost-$60 admission fee just to go somewhere to steal from children's strollers. Guess I was wrong -- and very lucky that it did not happen to me. I'm just sorry to hear that you were not as lucky.:sad1:

Maybe someone saw your items while you were at the security check point?

That is just horrible and I'm so sorry to hear that. We are heading there a week from Saturday but I will make sure to just leave diapers/wipes under the basket. SHAME - SHAME - on that person that did that. It's just not right.

I'm so sorry this happened to you!

Although it is a pain, we always transfer all valuables out of the stroller when we leave it. This means planning a bag for carrying cameras etc. while on attractions, but I could just never take a chance on losing them.

We don't hesitate to leave things like diapers and junk that is more easily replaced though.

Amazing how low some people are.

I'm so sorry your stuff was stolen!! What kind of people would steal stuff from Disneyworld??!!!

What we do is only bring the camera/camcorder one day to the parks. That way it's only a hassle to carry it into all the rides just for one day and not the whole trip. Also, I keep either a fannypack (I know, not too glamorous), or small backpack in the stroller that holds my valuables like my money, cc, hotel key, etc. Then when we go into a ride, all I have to do is grab the fannypack/backpack and I can leave the rest of the stuff in the stroller. So far, no one has ever stolen our stuff but it's only diapers, wipes, juice boxes, etc that are in the stroller.

Last year we stayed offsite and I was worried that our souvenoirs were going to get stolen, but no one took them. I guess we were just lucky.

I am sorry to hear how some one could be so rotten. A little idea we use all the time. We rent lockers. We go back and forth all day. It is not allways easy but ensures we have our valuables in a secured place. Take care.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I just dont understand people sometimes!!

Wow! Sorry to hear that happened to you. Last year we were at Disney for a week and had personal items in our stroller everyday with no problems. Things like hats, sunscreen and such in a basic tote (using the stroller from the Dis) Things were not expensive by any means but we still had no problems.

But on the one day we went to Sea World someone went through our things and took my daughters stuffed animal from the AK and her princess hat!

There are just some dishonest people out there and I am sorry that your lose was a higher priced item.

That is terrible!! [now I'm scaried to bring the Volo!!!!] Thank-you for the warning, sorry this happened to you!

I am so sorry for you. I always worry. I end up with a fanny pack for camera $$ etc and a bag in the stroller for misc non expensive stuff. But I always worry.

Mad4Dizne I know exactly what you mean. Brought our brand new volo in August and was freaking out everytime we left it.

 I ended up getting a chain bike lock and wrapping it around the folding mechanism in back when we first got to the parks so the CMs could move it but no one could fold it. that gave me a bit of comfort. Then just personalized it like crazy.

I am so sorry for your loss.
You might call lost and found. It sounds crazy, but having been robbed, sometimes the jokers have a change of heart and leave it in the vicinity, especially if they think someone may have seen them. Often wallets with photos and stuff are jettisoned when the cash and cards are kept. The folks in customer service can help you file a police report so your insurance company will reimburse (your homeowner's policy often offers some coverage.)

I'm so sorry for your loss! That's so horrible to experience at such a magical place!

Maybe it's just the New Yorker in me, but I'm purchasing an inexpensive stroller just for the trip. I have an Inglesina Zippy and Maclaren Quest that I love too much for people to mess with. I'm going this evening to buy a Jeep Liberty stroller.

We recently went to the zoo and even there I kept one eye on my stroller. So I know there's no way I'd have a pleasant time in WDW worrying if my stroller was outside an attraction or not.

I plan to leave water bottles and basics in the basket. DH usually takes out the Video camera at night and never puts it down. We don't carry it the whole day. We even lock it in our luggage back in our room. Our digital cameras are small and always on us.

I also plan on leaving my Kate Spade diaper bag at home, even though it's my favorite and plan on using the hospital freebie.

It's just horrible that we have to think of every item we bring like "what if someone takes it....."
